All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Johnson Cemetery--West Siloam Springs AR The Grove Sun Daily Edith Ada Simmons 1934-2005 LOWELL, Ark. - Edith Ada Simmons, 71, passed away on Thursday, February 3, 2005 at her home in Lowell, Ark. Mrs. Simmons was born on January 16, 1934 in Jonesboro, Ark. She was the daughter of William McNeal Simmons and Martha (Jones) Simmons. Edith married Estol Ray Simmons on June 4, 1964 in Pryor, Okla. She received her Bachelors Degree in Science and Education from Northeastern State University at Tahlequah, Okla. She then began a long career in education. She was a long time teacher at Mosley School in West Siloam Springs, Okla. and she also taught for Watts Public School. Mrs. Simmons was a member of the Oklahoma Educational Association and she was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include: four sons, William David Marney and wife, Julie of Pryor, Okla., Larkin Don Marney Jr. and wife, Anne of Athens, Texas, Archie Albert Simmons and wife, Lai Ann of Tulsa, Okla., and Estol Ray Simmons Jr. and wife, Ann of San Antonio, Texas; three daughters, Mary Sue Hernandez and husband, Tomas of Tulsa, Okla., Martha Lou Jones of Ogdensburg, N.Y., and Teri Simmons of Lowell, Ark.; one brother, Claude Clayton and wife, Vera of Pryor, Okla.; three sisters, Helen Davis of Adair, Okla., Robbie Taylor of Pryor, Okla., and Lois Whorton and husband, Faye of Claremore, Okla., 12 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 7, 2005 at the funerla home from 4-8 p.m. Services for Mrs. Simmons will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2005 at 3:00 p.m. at the Moseley School Gym in West Siloam Springs, Okla. The Rev. Gerald Griffin will officiate the service.
