Roy Thornton, age 74, of Webb City, Mo. Passed away at 6:00 p.m. Friday, October 14, 2005 at the Webb City Health and Rehabilitation Center in Webb City following a short illness. Roy was born November 27, 1930 to David and Beatrice Thornton near Parsons, Kansas. He owned the Thornton Sales Beer Distributors while in the Parsons area. He moved to Grove, Oklahoma where he owned the B & S Beverage Co. He has lived in the Webb City area for the last 20 years where he owned the Longhorn Bar. He was married to Betsy Key on December 8, 1972 in Miami, Oklahoma and she survives. Additional survivors include two sons, Danny Thornton, Joplin, Mo. Delwin "Bub" Cotton, and wife Joanna, Bartlesville, OK., three daughters, Karla Webb, and husband Glen, Wichita, Kansas, Karen Schroll, Caney, Kansas, and Teresa Gault, and husband John, Grove, Ok., one sister, Margaret Huffman, Chanute, Kansas. 12 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. Graveside services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Weaver Cemetery, near Oronogo, Mo. Pallbearers will be Glen Webb, John Gault, Allan Menhusen, Terry Ridgeway, Robin Burgess, and Chuck Corbin. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at the Hedge- Lewis Chapel.
