All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Worley-Luginbuel FH--Grove OK The Grove Daily Sun 25 Jul 2006 Calvia Lorene Youngblood 1923-2006 JAY, Okla. – Calvia Lorene Youngblood was born in Cleora, Okla., on September 25, 1923 and went to be with the Lord on July 25, 2006. Lorene graduated from Jay High School and Bartlesville Beauty College before moving to Wichita, Kan., to work at the Boeing aircraft manufacturing plant during World War II. After the war, she returned to Jay and opened her first beauty salon. On August 4, 1948, she married Elmer Youngblood of Eucha, Okla., after they eloped to Eureka Springs, Ark. Together they made their home in Rattlesnake Hollow, not far from Lake Eucha. Lorene owned and operated Lorene’s Beauty Shop in Jay for over 20 years before she retired. She attended First Baptist Church in Jay where she was a member for many years. After Elmer’s death in 1992, she moved to Tulsa to live with her son. Lorene was preceded in death by: her husband, Elmer; her parents, Robert Bruce and Rosa Brixey; and her brother, Robert Eugene Brixey. She is survived by: her son, Ken Youngblood of Tulsa; her daughter, Sara Hoklotubbe of Wailuku, Hawaii; her brother, J.C. Brixey of Broken Arrow, Okla.; five nephews; one niece; and a host of friends. The family would like to thank Hospice of Green Country and the staff at Clarehouse in Tulsa for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Clarehouse, 73424 E. 49th Place, Tulsa, OK 74145.
