Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in First United Methodist Church in Canadian with the Rev. Jeff Knighton, minister of First Christian Church of Perryton, officiating. Burial will be in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery by Stickley-Hill Funeral Directors. Mrs. Hoots married E.H. Hoots on July 4, 1937, in Arnett, Okla. She and her husband owned Hoots Grill in Perryton. She was preceded in death by her husband on Feb. 24, 1991; and a grandson, Shawn Seymour. Survivors include a daughter, Donna Seymour of Grand Prairie; a son, Gerry Hoots of Amarillo; a sister, Harriet Rogers of Canadian; four brothers, Richard Nix and Jack Nix Jr., both of Canadian, and Jimmy Nix and Robert Nix; five grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Perryton Senior Citizens. Amarillo Globe-News, June 13, 2002
