Service pending with Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. Sara Godschalk Elam Private graveside services for Sara Godschalk Elam, 105, will be 11 a.m. today in Enid Cemetery. The Rev. Robert Healey will officiate. Arrangements are by Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. She was born Oct. 21, 1896, in her parent's apartment above their store in Enid, and died Friday Aug. 9, 2002. She attended Enid public schools, graduating Enid High School in 1914. She attended the University of Chicago, the University of Missouri and graduated from the University of Iowa in 1918, where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. Following graduation, she lived and worked as a fashion designed in New York City. She then moved to Oklahoma City where she owned and operated a women's fashion shop. In 1923, she returned to Enid and married Roy J. Elam, an Enid attorney. He died in 1956. She remained in Enid where she was a member of the Junior Welfare League, participating in other civic activites. Surviving are a son, Theodore M. Elam of Oklahoma City; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Public Library of Enid and Garfield County. Tremain DeShon Richey. El Reno - The funeral for Tremain DeShon Rickey, 10, will be 11 a.m. today at Wesley United Church. Burial will follow in El Reno Cemetery. The Rev. Maceo McDaniel will officiate. Arrangements are by Russworm Funeral Home. He was born Aug. 28, 1991, in El Reno to Christopher and Tiffany Scroggins Gillispie and Ward Eugene Richey and died Monday, Aug. 5, 2002. He attented El Reno Headstart at age 4. From the age of 5 to 9, he attended LIncoln Colementary School. He lived in Germany. While there, he wrote a short story called, "Olivia and the Banana Boat." On May 9, 2001, he received a certificate for patricipating in the seventh annual Language Arts Festival 2001, as a young author. For receiving this award, he was given a trip to Anshach, Germany. He returned to Oklahoma and his family and frinds in June 2001. He attended Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, where he was a member of the young group and drill team. Surviving are his parents Christopher Gillespie of Germany and Tiffany Gillispie of the home, and Ward Richey of El Reno; three sisters, Tionna Gillispie of the home, Danielle Hayes of El Reno, and Christian Phillips of Oklahoma City; one brother, Tyler Richey of El Reno; Maternal grand- parents, Shirley McGinnis of El Reno; and great-grandfathers, George Richey and Edward Lang Sr., both of El Reno. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, his great-great- grandmother and his paternal grandmother. Edna R. Barnes Woodward - The funeral for Edna Ruth Farrier Barnes, 88, of Houston, formerly of Woodward, will be 10 a.m. Monday at Billings Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Arrangements are by Billings Funeral Home. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. She was born June 14, 1914 in Woodward to Clarence Marion Jack and Florence Hoffert Farrier and died Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2002 in Houston. Surviving are her children, Elizabeth Godwin and Robert H. Barnes Jr.; two brothers, James Farrier and Robert Farrier; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by her husband, Robert in 1985, and one sister. Jess L. Sidwell The funeral for Jess L. Sidwell, 61, will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. The Rev. Ernest Flusche will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements are by Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. He was born May 29, 1941, in Duncan to Jesse S. And Marie R. Semrad Sidwell and died Wednesday Aug. 7, 2002. He came to Pond Creek in 1947. He attended St. Joseph Seminary in Bethany for three years, one year in San Antonio, Texas and returned to Pond Creek to graduate in 1959. He married Sharon Couchman Oct. 21, 1966, in Colorado Springs, Colo. He was manager of Atwoods until 1976. He became an insurance agent with Equitable Insurance in 1976, working for Farmers Insurance and later became an Independent Insurance Agent, opening Sidwell and Associates. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and the morning Lions Club. Surviving are his wife, Sharon of the home; one son Jeff Sidwell of Dallas; his mother, Marie Sidwell of Enid; six sisters, Cynthia Williams of Enid, Gini Zaloudek of Kremlin, Elizabeth "Liz" Zaloudek of Kremlin, Carmen Schulta of Medford. Mary Sidwell of Ft. Myers, Fla. Rosemary "Rosie" New of Anna, Texas ; two brothers, Raymond of Goltry, and Greg of The Colony, Texas. He was preceded in death by one brother. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Knights of Columbus or the charity of donors choice. Loretta Agnes Weber Mass of Christian Burial for Loretta Agnes Weber, 83, of Oklahoma City, formerly of Sharon, will be 10:30 a.m. today at St. Peter Catholic Church of Woodward. The Rev. Jim Knight will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Arrangements are by Zwanziger Funeral Home. She was born March 15, 1919, at Bison to Joseph and Millie Redd Balk and died Thursday Aug. 8, 2002, at St. Ann's Retirement Center, Oklahoma City. She wa a 1937 graducate of Bison High School. She married Herman Weber Nov. 19, 1949, at Woodward. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Altar Society, and the Garden Club. Surviving are her husband, Herman of Oklahoma City; two sons, David of Sharon, and Daniel of Alameda, Calif; six daughters, Teresa Ballard of Salem, N.C. Margaret Jamison of Manchester, Kan., Patricia Schmidt of Dennison, Texas, Barbara Weber, Frisco, Texas, Carolyn Cruzan of Edmond, and Marily Weber of Fairway, Kan.; two brothers, Lloyd Balk of Guthrie, and Ernest Balk of Henderson, Utah; three sisters, Dorothy Maggart, Margaret Rogers, and Ramonda Laughlin, all of Enid; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. John William Schmitz Schmitz, John William, 85, Covington. Service pending with Henninger- Allen Funeral Home. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home Inc. Johnny L. Mahieu Johnny L. Mahieu, 48, formerly of Enid, passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2002. He was born March 18, 1954 to Ivan and Glenna (Polin) Mahieu in Cherokee, OK. He is survived by his wife, Susie of the home; daughter, Laura and husband Matt Ford and granddaughter Jorden, of Midwest City; his parents; grandmother, Avis Snider of Helena, OK; two brothers, Bill Mahieu and wife Regina of Helena, OK; Jim Mahieu and wife Paula of Cherokee, OK; three sisters, Jean Robbins and husband James of Medord, OK, Mary Blackledge and husband Jim of Jet, OK, Peggy Bowers and husband Dougl of Enid, OK; eight nieces and 10 nephews; in-laws, Al and Irene Ragan of Bixby, OK; sister-in-law, Nancy Hoard and husband Bob of Bixby, OK, brother-in-law, Richard Ragan and wife Debbie of Enid, OK. He enjoyed fishing. His ministry in life was working with Emmanuel Baptist children at camp and with the children's ministry. He loved spending time with his granddaughter. Mr. Mahieu will lie in state Saturday and Sunday at the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home in Enid. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 12, 2002 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Enid, OK. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 13, 2002 at Arlington Cemetery in Midwest City, OK under the direction of Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home in Del City, OK. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Emmanuel Christian School in Enid, OK.
