Chapman Fairview - The funeral for Ruth Lorene Chapman, 88, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Fiarview Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Denis Burrell will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. She was born Nov. 6, 1913, north of Applegrove to George William and Anna Bell Barber Combs and died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2002, at Fairview Cemetery. She moved with family to a farm west of Fairview and attended Harmony School, then Fairview school. She married Thomas Scantlin in 1932 and was divorced in 1933. In 1937, she married H. O. Walker in Enid. They lived in the Fairview area. She was a homemaker. After her husband's death, sehw orked as a cook for Fairview school system for several years. In 1985, she married Sam Chapman in Seiling, where they lived until his death in 1992. She returned to Fairview. Surviving are three sons, Raymond Scantlin of Yukon, James Walker of Sands Springs and William "Butch" Walker of Enid; six grandchildren; and six great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ross E. Woodson Laverne - The funeral for Ross E. Woodson, 57, will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Apostolic Faith Church in Laverne. Burial will be on the family farm in Beaver County. Arrangements are by Myatt-Seeger Funeral Home. He was born Sept. 23, 1945, on the family farm in Logan to John Robert adn Lora THelma Blosser Woodson and died Saturyday, Aug. 10, 2002, in a drilling rig accident at Decatur, Texas. He graduated from Victory Country School at Laverne in 1963 and from Panhandle State at Goodwell with a bachelor of science degree. On dec. 18, 1965, he married Joyce Lynn Raney in Beaver. He owned and operated Woodson Commodities and was drilling foreman for Cheyenne Drilling. He was a drill sergeant in the military and a member of Laverne Panhandle Bowling League. Surviving are one son, Ross "Eric" of Mooreland; three daughters, Lisa Moore of Liberal, Kan., Laura Rutschman of Dodge City, Kan., and Shelia King of Wann; three brothers, Carol of McAlester, Robert of Logan and Wayne of Woodward; three sisters, Thelma Long of Granby, Mo., Leora Bridgewater of Durant and Shirley Woodson of Woodward; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Melba B. Stanfill Crescent - The funeral for Melba Burnetta Stanfill, 81, will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Abernathy Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Roger Pitt will officiate. Burial will be in Crescent Cemetery. She was born Nov. 3, 1920, in Welllington Kan., to Everett and Nellie A. Summers Williamson and died Saturday, Aug. 10, 2002, at Yukon. On Marc 4, 1939, she married Leo Wilbur Stanfill at Oklahoma City. She was a member of VGW Ladies AUxiliary, the Methodist Church of Crescent, church choir and double trio. She played piano and sang. Surviving are one son, Aaron of Yukon; one daughter, Carolyn Stanfil of Red River, N. M.; two granchildren; one stepgrandchild; two great- grandchildren; and one stepgreat-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, July 14, 1986, and one sister. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rudolph H. Tah Jr. The funeral for Rudolph Harry White Eagle Faeather Tah Jr., 52, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Christ the King Christian Center. The Revs. Cecil McCurdy and Archive Murdy will officiate. Burial will be in Enid Cemetery. Arrangements are by Henninger-Allen Funeral Home. He was born Sept. 1, 1949, in Pawnee to Rudolph Harry and Mona Mae Whitehorn Tah and died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2002, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center. He attended Enid schools and excelled in sports. He joined the Army on Nov. 4, 1968, and received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with one Bronze Star, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Purple Heart and expert rifle. He was honorably discharged March 15, 1971. He was a manager for a rock band. On Sept. 9, 1973, he married Georgene Stoll in Enid. He worked for the city of Enid and Pepsi-Cola in Oklahoma City. They moved to York, Neb., where he became an EMT and worked for the ambulance service. They returned to Enid in 1985. He worked at Phillips golf course, then hauled drilling mud, retiring four years ago. He was a member of the Apache Tribe and Was the Tribe's community health representative. Surviving are his wife, Georgene of Enid; seven sister, Edith L. Tah-Monge of Enid, Beverly Tah-Mattice of Lawton, Ramona Tah-Walter of Stockton, Calif. Carol Tah-Walter and Connie Tah-Willson, both of Enid. Betty Tah-Gonzalos and Carola Tah-Zavcala, both of Oklahoma City; and one granddaughter.
