Mary Jett Winn Wichita Falls, Texas - The funeral for Mary Jett Winn, 96, was 1 p.m. Aug. 14 in the chapel of Crestivew Mausoleum. The Rev. Jerry Jones officiated. Burial was in Crestview Memorila Park. Arrangements were by Hampton Vaughn Crestview. She was born March 13, 1906, in Jet to Rufus and Alice Jett Cavett and died Friday, Aug. 9, 2002, at Wichita Falls. She graduated from Jet High School and attended Oklahoma State College. She graduated from Enid Business College. In September 1930, she married John T. Winn at Hennessey. They moved to Wichita Falls where he taught at the military base. She was a homemaker. Surviving are one daughter, Jo Alice Griffin; two sons, Thomas and Cavett, both of Wichita Falls; one sisster, Dorothy Becker of Kingwood, Texas; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nov. 18, 1993, three sisters and two brothers. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls, PO box 4804, Wichita Falls, Texas, 76308. Elsie V. Hendrick Provo, Utah - The funeral fo Elsie Viola Hendrick, 91, will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Wakita. The Rev. Bobby Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Arrangements are by Williams Funeral Home, Anthony, Kan. She was born may 15, 1911, in Savon burg, Kan., to John Edward and Edna Iona Johnson Wittsell and died Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2002, in Provo. She attended Savonburg High School, then did housework and worked in laundry in the hospital at Chanute, Kan. She married Emory Kelsey. They divorced. On Jan. 1, 1950, she married Gilbert hendrick of Manchester. They divorced. On Jan 1, 1950, she married Gilbert Hendrick of Manchester. They lived on the family farm west of Manchester and later bought an appartment at Community Health Center in Wakita. She attended the Methodist Church at Manchester, was church secretary and belonged to the Ladies' UMW Society. They were active in Cherryvale Grange. She joined First Baptist Church in Wakita in 1987 and was a member of Senior Adult Sunday school class. She helped with Vacation Bible School and was active in Women's Missionary Union, serving as secretary and treasurer. She wzs voted "Woman of the Year" in 1984 by Alpha Gamma Preceptor of Beta Sigma Phi. In 1995, she moved to Provo and joined the First Baptist Church there. The past five months, she lived at Crestview Care Center. Surviving are three sisters, Delia Gervais of Placer ville, Calif., Ruby Riley of Parks, Ark., and Evaline Eissler of Liberty, Mo.; and two brothers, Larry Wittsell of Provo, and Harold Wittsell of Elizabeth City, N. C. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1987 and one brother. Memorials may be made to Wakita Baptist Church. Gilbert L. Ridgeway A memorial service for Gilbert L. Ridgeway, 93, will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Christ United Methodist Church. The Rev. Richard Leonard will officiate. The body was cremated at his request. Arrangments are by Henninger-Allen Funeral Home. He was born July 7, 1909, in Sherburn, Minn., to Gould L. and Ethel Edwards Ridgway and died Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2002, at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center. As an infant, he moved with family to Hunter and graduated from Hunter High School. He attended Oklahoma State University and the University of Oklahoma, then graduated from Enid Business College. He moved to Enid in 1938 and managed Kiowa Lumber Co. He later worked as a purchasing agent at Vance Air Force Base, then worked as office manager and head bookkepper for four Earnest Brothers shoe stores. On June 8, 1939, he married Anna Mary Curby of Edmond. He was a charter member of Christ United Methodist Church and did administrative duties. In 1942, he began bowling and was elected to both city and state Bowler's Hall of Fame. Surviving are his wife, Anna of the home; one daughter, Linda Smith of Athens, Ga.; one sister, Opal Buss of Enid; one brother, Earl of Wichita, Kan.; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the church. Isaac Meier Okeene - The funeral for Isaac Meier, 94, will be 2 p.m. Friday at Seventh-day Adventist Church in Okenne. Ryan Neill and Scott Baker, pastors, will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Arrangements are by Wilkinson Mortuary. He was born Oct. 11, 1907, to Jake and Kathrine Miller Meier and died Aug. 13, 2002. He attended Hitchcock High School, a boarding school in Clinton, MO., a Seventh-day Adventist School and Sourthwestern Junior College in Keene, Texas. He married Alice Brickman. She died Oct. 14, 1992. He moved to Oregon in 1993, then moved back to Oklahoma to the farm. He moved to Harrah and Weatherford before moving to the home of Martha Smith. He had helped build Okeene Seventh-day Adventist Church, the church school and Weatherford Seventh-day Adventist Church. Surviving are one son, Jerry of Weatherford; one daughter, Yvonne Dickerson of Clarkston, Wash; one sister, Elberta Swaim of Okeene; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother. Mary Fae Polk The funeral for Mary Fae Polk, 77, will be 10 a.m. today at Alta Woods Baptist Church in Jackson, Miss. Burial will be in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery, Carson, Miss. Arrangements are by Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home, Jackson, Miss., with local arrangments by Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. A native of Tampa, Fla., she had been a resident of Jackson for the past 47 years. She was a member of Alta Woods Baptist Church and taught Sunday School. She was active in Sunday Ministry at Inglewood Manor Nursing Home. She was a retired registered nurse and had worked at Hinds General Hospital. She graduated from Union Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Baltimore, Md., and was a member of the Army Cadel Nurses Corps. Surviving are three sons, Edward of Enid, Scott of Incirlik, Turkey, and Lee of Marshall Town, Iowa; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Polk, in 1999. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Hospice Circle of Love. Maxine M. Traynor THe funeral service for Maine M. Hutcherson Funeral services for Mary J. Hutcherson, 97, of Garber will be 3:00 p.m. Friday, August 16, 2002, at the Assembly of God Church, Garber. Rev. Barry Prock will officiate. Burial will follow in Garber Cemetery under the direction of the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Mary was born April 15, 1905 in Sorento, Illinois, to John and Anna (Kunz) Simmergin, Sr. And died Monday, August 12, 2002 at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center. She moved with her family from Sorento to Garber in 1908 to the family farm Southwest of Garber. The family moved to the town of Garger in 1927. Mary married Bert N. Hutcherson, December 21, 1947. They made their home in Seminole for many years. She was active in the Assembly of God Church, visiting Shut-ins with her accordion. Her husband Bert preceded her in death May 27, 1981, also preceding her are Seven brothers and one sister. One sister Francis Leslie of Garber and numerous nieces and nephews survive her. She has gone home "It's Suppertime." Memorials may be made to Garber Assembly of God Church through the church or Funeral home. Thelma Margaret Maddox Thelma Margaret Maddox, 95, passed away Aug. 13, 2002. She was born Nov. 25, 1906 to Robert L. And Cordelia Easterling in Oklahoma Territory southwest of Aline, OK on the Easterling homestead. She graduated from Central College in McPherson, KS in 1926. After oving to Enid she worked many years to Villa Madonna Care Center in geriatrics and at Enid General Hospital in Pediatrics. When Thelma married Everett Taylor in 1958 she gained a Daughter, Loretta Franz. Everett passed away in 1978. Years later Thelma married Tim L. Maddox. This marriage gave Thelma three more children: Lawrence Maddox, Donella Lamm and Linda Cardwell. Tim passed away on Feb. 28, 2001. Thelma was also preceded in death by her parents, her brothers and sisters: Oma Edwards, Chester Easterling. Sidney Easterling, Ralph Easterling, Eunice Hepker, Verlin Easterling, Lois Evangeline Easterling, and by her great grandson, Keith. Thelma was a member of the Free Methodist Church and the Women's Missionary Society all her life. Left to cherish her memory are her sister-in-law, Bonnie Easterling, her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of living friends. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, Aug. 16, 2002 in the Bill Merritt Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Memorila Park Cemetery at Enid, OK. Zella Fairleigh Graveside serve for Zella Fairleigh, age 84, will be Friday, August 16, 2002 at Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel with the Rev. John McLemore officiating. A visitation will be held Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Henninger-Allen Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Henninger-Allen Chapel. Zella was born Aug. 7, 1918 to Ernest and Violette (Jacobs) Baker on the farm that is now Vance Air Force Base and died Tuesday, August 13, 2002. She attended Sunny Slope Grade School. Emerson Jr. High, Enid High School, class of 1936, and attended Phillips University. On August 5, 1939, she married Fred Fairleigh at Enid, OK. Zella's grandfather Judge J. S. Jacobs married them. Zella was a life-long member of Central Christian Church and a member of the Sooner Sunday School Class. She was employed at Vance Air Force Base and Longfellow Cafeteria. Surviving are her two sisters, Mary Ruth Cooper and Vera Sue Bunch and her husband Frank, one brother Ralph Baker and wife Luella all of Enid, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her husband and one sister Ernestine Malden. Memorial may be made to the Central Christin CHurch with the funeral home serving as custodians. Nettie Frances Romans Graveside services for Nettie Frances Romans will be Friday, August 16, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. under the direction of Johnson's Funeral Home, Pawhuska, OK at South Heights Cemetery, Sapulpa, OK. Nettie was born June 11, 19141 at Glenpool, OK to JOhn R. and Dollie Cleo Coleman Jones. She married H. J. "Bud" Romans March 26, 1937 at Chandler, OK. Nettie & Bud were residents of Greenbriar Nursing Home, Enid at the time of her death, August 12, 2002. She is survived by her husband H. J. "Bud" Romans, daughter Darlene and husband Don Druiett of Waukomis, two sissters Alice Mae Couey, Pawhuska and Hazel Gladys Kirk, Tulsa. Three grandchildren; Randy and Barbara Griffin, Greeley, CO; Gayla and Chris McAtee, Laverne, OK, Rodger and Nancy Griffin, Enid. Eight great grandchildren; Jeff & Lacy Griffin, U.S. Navy; BJ & Carrie Colorado Springs, CO; Jerri Griffin, Lamar CO; Dustin and Amber, Brant and Earin & Cory McAtee of Laverne; Wendy and Kristopher Griffin Enid, OK. Three great great grandchildren; Dar and Mara Jade Griffin, Dallas, TX; Shelby Smith, Enid and many nieces and nephews. Marjorie Pauline Goodhue Funeral services for Marjorie Pauline Goodhue will be Friday, August 16, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Gary Hendrickson officiating. Burial will follow at Del Norte Cemetery, Drummond, under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. She was born on November 3, 915, on a farm southwest of Enid the daughter of Bernard and Nell Travis Goodhue. She attended Turkey Creek Grade School, Drummond High School and Phillips University where she obtained an elementary Teacher's Certificate. She lived on the family farm until moving to Enid in 1974. She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister-in-law Mrs. Eva Goodhue. She is survived by one niece Betty Jean Clelland of Enid; three great-nieces and nephews and six great-great nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made in Pauline Goodhue's memory to the Trinity Lutheran Church with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodians of the funds.
