Service pending with Wilson Funeral Home, Pond Creek. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ross Leonard Fuqua Seiling - The funeral for Ross Leonard Fuqua, 94, will be 2 p.m. Sunday at First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Vera Walton will officiate. Burial will follow in Brumfield Cemetery. Arrangements are by Redinger Funeral Home. He was born March 15, 1908, near Toronto, Kan., in Woodson County to AZ. D. and Emma Liebau Fuqua and died Thursday Aug. 15, 2002, at Edmond Medical Center. At age three, he moved with his parents to a farm southeast of Seiling. He attasnded is first year of school in Seiling. He later attended Richmond School, gradutating from Richmond High School in 1928. He furthered his education at Draughon's Business College. He worked fro International Harvester in Bismarck, N. D., and pursued other work experiences before deciding that farming was his chosen vocation. He returned to Siling and purchased the farm where he lived after he married Ada Miller Dec. 16, 1937, at Arapaho. He was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church, serving in various capacities. he was a charter member of United Methodist Men. He served as inspector for the Dewey County Election Board for many years. Surviving are his wife, Ada of the home; one daughter, Jan Green of Oklahoma City; a son, Dennis Fuqua of Siling; one sister, Elsie Zook of Salinas, Calif.; a brother John Fuqua of Piedmont, Kan.; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister and three brothers. Memorials may be made to the Brumfield Cemetery fund with the funeral home acting as custodian of the funds. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Imogene Caroline Gaden Seiling - The funeral for Imogene Caroline Gaden, 78, will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Ewel Vaughan will officiate. Burial will follow in Brumfield Cemetery. Arrangements are by Redinger Funeral Home. Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. The casket will be open at the church prior to the services. She was born Dec. 30, 1923, at Alva to Jesse Harmon and Flossie Venice Collins Gum and died Wednesday Aug. 14, 2002, at her home in Beggs. She attended school at Locust Grove and Enid before moving to Seiling where she graduated from Seiling High School in 1942. She married Julien Francis "Jake" Gaden Oct 3, 1943, at Enid. She made her home in Enid until his discharge from the service. The moved northwest of Seiling in Woodward County, where they owned and operated the Shamrock Cafe in Seiling from 1964-1970. She also served as deputy county treasurer in Dewey County for several years, and worked at Woodward County Abstract Office. She was a member of First United Methodist Church where she was active in the Methodist Women's organization for 20 plus yeuars. She also was a member of Music Lovers Club, Richmond Home Betterment CLub and helped to organize Girl Scout troops throughtout northwest Oklahoma. She later moved to Beggs, in Okmulgee County where she lived until her death. Surviving are one son, Dick Gaden of Beggs; two daughters, Dr. Lititia "Tisha" Dowe-Breckenridge of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Suzanne Dahle of Alpine, Utah; two sisters, Doris Baker of Chandler, and the Rev. Kathleen Skipper of Grand Prairie, Texas; 14 grand-children; and six great-grand-children. She was preceded in death by her husband Julien, July 11, 1974, an infant sister and one brother. "Chuck" Godard The funeral for Charles G. "Chuck" Godard, 62, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Ladusau-Evans Chapel. The Rev. Don Tines will officiate. Burial will be 3 p.m. in Mooreland City Cemetery. Arrangements are by Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. He was born Nov. 14, 1939, at Brady, Texas, to Charles M. and Kathryne Yates Godard and died Wednesday Aug. 14, 2002. He graduated from Blackwell High School in 1957. He moved to Enid to work for the Santa Fe Railway, retiring fromBNSF in October 2001. He married Pat Wilson April 27, 1969. Surviving are his wife, Pat of the home; his father, Charles of Mannford; two children, Lance Godard of Cleveland Heights, Ohio, and Kelly Hoeflin of St. Paul, MN; two brothers, Carol of Boulder, Colo., and David of Tulsa; and three grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Walter Earl Harrison Kingfisher - The funeral for Walter Earl Harrison, 90, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Darryl Owen will officiate. Burial will follow in Kingfisher Cemetery. Arrangements are by Sanders Funeral Service. He was born Aug. 10, 1912, in Kingfisher to Earl and Amelia Kremke Harrison and died Wednesday Aug. 14, 2002, at Cimarron Nursing Center. He was raised on the farm and remained on the farm most of his life. He attended Burson Country School, District 62 southwest of Kingfisher. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and Oklahoma Farm Bureau. He served with the Oklahoma National Guard. Surviving are two sons, Norman and Melvin, both of Kingfisher; one daughter, Kayleen Helt of Kingfisher; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, one daughter and one brother. She was born Oct. 20, 1907 in Chewala, Wash. to Edwin and Eva Clendenning Shelp and died Wednesday Aug. 14, 2002, at Quail Creek Nursing Home, Oklahoma City. She graduated from highs chool in Springfield, Ill. She was a supervisor for Illinois Bell for 35 years, and worked at a Realtor office for 17 years. Following her retirement, she moved to Cape Cod, Mass., until 1995. She then moved to Oklahoma City to be closer to family. Surviving are severaal nieces and nephews. Arrangements are under the direction of Henninger- Allen Chapel. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jim Foglesong Funeral services for Jim Foglesong, age 86, will be today at 2:00 p.m. at Central Christian Church with the Rev. John McLemore officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Henninger- Allen Funeral Home. Jim was born May 7, 1916 in Lawton, OK to Home and Sarah Rankin Foglesong. After attending school in Dover, OK he moved to Enid and began working in the office machine business. Jim married Dorothy Reichard of Tulsa November 21, 1942. He served in the Army Signal Corps during WW II. After his discharge he moved to Tulsa and in 1949 returned to Enid as a partner in Enid Typewriter Company. He retired in 1990 after 50 years in the business. Jim was a Sunday school teacher, deacon, elder and a long-time member of Central Christian Church. He served his community as a director in Enid Chamber of Commerce, 50 year member of Enid Noon Lions Club, director of Enid Credit Bureau board, and member of Enid Phillips Board of Governors. He was a member of the Enid Masonic Lodge No. 501, Guthrie Scottish Rites, Akdar Temple, and Enid Shrine Club. As a young man, he was active in 4H Club and was selected as the outstanding 4H boy from Kingfisher County in 1933 allowing him to attend the national convention in Chicago. He is survived by his wife Dorothy of the home; three sons and their wives, Steven and Joni of Las Cruces, NM, Richard and Suzanne of Orlando, and John and Marty of Marshfield, MO; four grandchildren, Eric, Holly, Mark and Christopher; two sisters, Carolyne Buchholz of Tulsa and Mary Gilley of Lawton. He was preceeded in death by two brothers. He enjoyed the company of his many nieces and nephews. Hutcherson Funeral services for Mary J. Hutcherson of Garber will be 3:00 p.m. today at the Assembly of God Church, Garber. Ridgway The memorial service for Gilbert L. Ridgway, 93-year-old Enid resident, will be Saturday, August 17, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ United Methodist Church. The Rev. Richard Leonard will officiate. Gilbert's remains were cremated per his request. Arrangements are under the direction of Henninger-Allen Funeral Home. He was born July 7, 1909 in Sherburn, Minnesota to Gould L. Ridgway and Ethel (Edwards) Ridgway. Late that year the family moved to Hunter, Oklahoma, where he graduated from high school. He then attended O.S.U., O.U., and then graduated from Enid Business College. In 1938 Gilbert moved to Enid where he managed the Kiowa Lumber Company and later worked as a purchasing agent at Vance Air Force Base. He later worked as office manager and head bookkeeper for the four Earnest Brothers shoe stores. On June 8, 1939, he married Anna Mary Curby of Edmond. The couple had one daughter, Linda. He was a charter member of Christ United Methodist Church where he worked with administrative duties. In 1942 he began bowling. It was his passion. He was involved with both league play and administration duties until 2001. He was elected to both the city and state Bowler's Hall of Fame. He is survived by his wife, Anna Mary of the home; his daughter, Linda, and her husband, David, of Athens, Georgia; three grandchildren, Jim and Michael Smith, Atlanta, Georgia, and Davlin Hupp, of Cabot, Pennsylvania. Also a sister, Opal Buss, of Enid, and a brother, Earl, of Wichita, KS; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of cousins in Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Carroll. Memorials may be made to Christ United Methodist Fund with Henninger-Allen acting as custodians of the fund. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Carlos Jay "Chuck" Lang Funeral services for Carlos Jay "Chuck" Lang will be held at 10 a.m. today in the Henninger-Allen Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Masonic Garden in Memorial Park Cemetery. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lulu M. Nelson A graveside service for Lulu M. Nelson, age 94, of Enid will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in the Ames Cemetery Pavilion with the Rev. Mickey Moery officiating. Arrangements are by Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Lulu Nelson was born November 15, 1907 and died August 14, 2002 at Greenbrier Nursing Home. Her parents were John Lee and Lova Ellen Mason Lozier. She was born on the Lozier homestead 5 miles northeast of Ames. She attended Oak Glade County School. Lulu married Ted Roberts and they had five children. She later married Ed Nelson who preceded her in death in 1973. Lulu loved to play the piano and said she couldn't wait to get up in the morning so she could practice before school. She played by ear and note, and was known for having "that dance beat." She played for dances for many years and was coaxed to play for family gatherings. Her great granchildren loved to dance while she played. She worked at the Enid State School as a volunteer grandparent for 16 years and while there she played piano with a "granny" band that entertained at the nursing homes. She loved children, her pets, birds, flowers, the outdoors, and anything to do with nature. She is survived by her three children, Ted and Barbara Roberts of Ames, Colleen Rombaugh and JoAnn Sherman of Enid; one sister Elsie Dixon of North Enid; five grandchildren, Byron and Sara Hill, JoAnn and Steve Bell, CIndy and Mike Maser, Craig and Jo Roberts, and Bengi and Daren Gregory; 12 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, grand nieces, and nephews, her good friends and neighbors Larry and Shawna COle. She was greatly loved by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 infant children, her beloved grandson Mike, 1 brother and 1 sister. Lulu was a cute little lady who never lost her sense of humor.
