Service pending with Henninger-Allen Funeral Home. Virginia Lee Forsyth The funeral for Virginia Lee Forsyth, 79, will be 2 p.m. Monday in Roberts Funeral Home Chapel, Blackwell. Burial will be in Mount Olive Cemetery, Nardin. She was born Oct. 10, 1922, at Haskel, Texas, to Guy and Pauline McLean and died Friday, Aug. 16, 2002, at Golden Oaks Nursing Home, Enid. She attended primary and junior high school in Haskel, then lived with her grandmother at Nardin in 1937. She graduated from Deer Creek High School in 1939. On Dec. 23, 1939, she married Stanley Forsyth at Perry. They settled in the Deer Creek community. She coached softball teams and drove a school bus for Deer Creek-Lamont Schools for 13 years. She worked for Grant County Health Department for six years, and was a 50-year member of Bluff View Home Extension Club. She was a member of Deer Creek Church of Christ. She entered Golden Oaks Nursing Home in 1999. Surviving are one son, Stanley of Deer Creek; two daughters, Cathy Moore of Deer Creek and Barbara Kirby of Pond Creek; three sisters, Catherine Thorpe and Mary Trout, both of California, and Martha Blake of Idaho; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandsons. She was preceded in death by her husband, March 16, 1977. Memorials may be made to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Alzheimer's Division. Herbert H. Yost KINGFISHER - A graveside service for Herbert Henry Yost, 75, will be 10 a.m. Monday in Kingfisher Cemetery. The Rev. Leon Seaton will officiate. Arrangements are by Slanders Funeral Service. He was born June 21, 1927, in Kingfisher to Henry and Cora Yost and died Friday, Aug. 16, 2002, at Mercy Health Center, Oklahoma City. He graduated from Omega High School in 1945 and was a member of Federated Church. He served on the board of directors for Soil Conservation Office and was a member of the Cattleman's Association. He married Lois R. Kottwitz on Dec. 3, 1950, at Kingfisher. They lived west of Kingfisher. Surviving are his wife, Lois of the home; two sons, Max and Mike, both of Kingfisher; two daughters, Linda Shelby of Sulphur and Patt Sandefur of Kingfisher; one sister, Florine Jindra of Kingfisher; and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. Memorials may be made to the church or Memory Lane. Thelma J. Flock FARGO - The funeral for Thelma Jewel Flock, 87, will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Fort Supply Baptist Church. The Rev. Joel Jackson and Melvin Rittenhouse will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Arrangements are by Zwanziger Funeral Home, Woodward. She was born July 28, 1915, north of Fargo to Lyie and Edith Bell Dobson Atkinson and died Friday, Aug. 16, 2002, at her home in rural Fargo. She attended Greenwood Country School, near Fargo. On Oct. 13, 1937, she married Delmer Dean Flock at Woodward. She worked at Western State Hospital for more than 35 years, retiring in 1978. She attended Fort Supply Baptist Church. Surviving are two sons, Ivan of Bozeman, Mont., and Clifford of San Antonio; one daughter, Ivonna Marie Deweese of Woodward; four brothers, Ronald Atkinson of Pueblo, Colo., Loren Atkinson of Garden City, Kan., Leon Atkinson of Fort Smith, Ark., and Keith Atkinson of Colorado Springs, Colo.; five sisters, Reva Latta of Fargo, Katherine Gilbert of Mooreland, Lucille Champ of Fargo, Faye Purvis of Beulah, Colo., and Betty Jean Martin of Pueblo; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1978 and one sister. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the cemetery or church. Opal Rayner NASH — The funeral for Opal Rayner, 91, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Nash First Christian Church. The Rev. Hugh Wayman will officiate. Burial will be in New Home Cemetery. Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral Home, Pond Creek. Visitation will be 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. She was born May 11, 1911, at Nash to James Monroe and Cora Belle Surface Secord and died Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002, at Golden Oaks Assisted Living, Enid. She graduated from Hillsdale High School in 1928 and attended Central Christian College in McPherson, Kan., for two years. On July 22, 1932, she married Wilbur Alien Rayner at Tonkawa. They lived in Nash until moving to a farm in the Wakita area in 1943. In 1975, they moved into Nash. She was a member of First Christian Church at Nash and Nash Senior Citizens. She worked on the election board. Surviving are two sons, Lynden of Enid and John of Richland, Wash.; one daughter, Karen Manche of Hutchinson, Kan.; one sister, Glendora Conner of Enid; 18 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, May 17, 1984, one son, five sisters, three' brothers and two grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the church or Nash Senior Citizens. Clarence Hetherington The funeral for Clarence B. Hetherington, 91, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Henninger-Allen Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Jay R. Swope will officiate. Burial will be in Enid Cemetery. He was born Jan. 19, 1911, in Reagan, Texas, to James M. Sr. and Pearl Barton Hetherington and died Saturday, Aug. 17, 2002, at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center. He farmed with his father until April 1934, then joined the Army Air Corps at Kelly Field, San Antonio. In October 1948, he married Irlene Sterrell of Enid. During World War II, he served in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre with the 22nd Bomb Group. In 1949, he was assigned to the Berlin Airlift. He retired to Vance Air Force Base in December 1958 as a master sergeant. He was employed as a civilian at Vance for a number of years. He was a member of West Side Baptist Church where he served as usher, deacon and Sunday school superintendent. Surviving are four nieces and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his wife, one brother and two sisters. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the church.
