Myles The funeral for Willie C. Myles, 73, will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Philadelphia Seventh-day Adventist Church. The Rev. Bonell Fields will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Russworm Funeral Home. Viewing will be noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. He was born May 15, 1929, in Westpoint, Miss., to Elbert and Cora Myles and died Friday, Aug. 16, 2002, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center. He attended school in Mississippi, then moved to Oklahoma in 1950. He married Dorine Hodge of Calvert, Texas in 1951. He was employed with Southwestern Bell for 41 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of St. Stephen AME Church. Surviving are his wife, Dorine of the home; four daughters, Bonnie Lynch of Hopkinsville, Ky., Charolette Nixon of Oklahoma City, Sharon Myles and Diana Henderson, both of Enid; two sons, Willie F. Myles of Enid and Quraysh Myles of Chicago; one brother, Clarence of Arizona; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters, four brothers and one son. Clifton E. Elliott Springfield, Mo. - The funeral for Clifton E. Elliott, 65, will be 2 pm. Tuesday in Craig-Hurtt-Bradley Funeral Home Chapel at Mountain Grove, Mo. The Rev. Archie Klusmeyer will officiate. Burial will be in Vanzant Cemetery. Visitation with family will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. He was born July 18, 1937, near Mountain Grove to Clifford and Ola Elliott and died Friday, Aug. 16, 2002. He attended Mountain Grove High School and was ordained as a deacon at Vanzant Baptist Church. He served churches in Missouri and Oklahoma. On June 29, 1957, he married Patricia Dickison. They worked in the Mountain Grove area for 25 years, owning and operating Mountain Grove Oil, Big Peney Oil and Elliott and Son Trucking Co. In 1982, they moved to Enid. he retired from BOC Gases in 1999 and moved to Springfield area in 2000. Surviving are his wife Pat; two daughters, Dayna Harbin of Springfield and Aleta Harris of St. Louis, Mo.; one son, David of Fort Campbell, KY.; and four grandchildren. Henry Laverne - The funeral for Elvin William "Boob" Henry, 79, will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Myatt-Seeger Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Wes Peterman will officiate. Burial will be in Laverne Memorial Cemetery. He was born Dec. 10, 1922, in Logan to Harry W. and Julia Ann Harper Henry and died Saturday, Aug. 17, 2002, at Woodward Hospital and Health Center. He attended Norfork Grade School and graduated from high school in Darrouzett, Texas, in 1941. On March 14, 1942, he married Viola Elizabeth Faussette at Beaver. He married Betty Lou Johnson Smith on Sept. 1, 1982, at Buffalo. He was a retired carpenter and race horse owner. He was a member of Cattleman's Association, Quarter Horse Association and Horse Racing Association in Oklahoma, Kansas and Texas. Surviving are his wife, Betty; three sons, Randell of Pensacola, Fla., Darrel of Winfield, Mo., and Jeffrey of Moscow Mills, Mo.; two step- sons, Bill Smith and John O. Smith, both of Vaverne; two daughters, Sandra Vaugh and Diane Hackman, both of Winfield, Mo.; two stepdaughters, Joyce James of May and JoAnn Manwarren of Logan, nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchilren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one sister and one grandson. Memorials may be made through the funeral home. James Parrish The funeral for James "Jim" Parrish, 79, will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Redeemer Lutheran Church. The Rev. Jerry Brown will officiate. Burial will be in Enid Cemetery. Arrangements are by Henninger-Allen Funeral Home. He was born Feb. 6, 1923, in Maysville to James and Anna Dotson Parrish and died Saturday, Aug. 17, 2002, at The Living Center. He joined the Army in 1942, serving in the United States and in Indian. He was discharged after 3 1/2 years of service and moved to Montana to work in the copper mines. In 1950, he moved to Enid. He worded 27 years at Champlin Refinery. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy of the home; four sons, James "Jimmy," Robert "Bob" of Chandler, Marvin of Albany, Texas, and John of Gentryville, Ind.; three daughers, Ester and Georgene, both of Enid, and Kathleen of Mooreland, Ind.; two brothers, Art of Commerce City, Colo., and William "Bill" Clifton of Enid; 12 granchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the church or to Hospice Circle of Love. Opal Rayner Nash - The funeral for Opal Rayner will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Nash First Chirstian Church. Burial will be in New Home Cemetery. Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral Home, Pond Creek. Visitation will be 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. Clarence Hetherington Funeral services for Clarence Hetherington, age 91 of Enid will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 20, 2002, in the Henninger-Allen Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. J. Ross Swope officiating. Burial will follow in Enid Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Henninger-Allen Funeral Home. Clarence B. Hetherington was born to James M. Hetherington, Sr. and Pearl Barton Hetherington in Reagan, Texas, Jan. 19, 1911, and died Saturday August 17, 2002, at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center. He farmed with his father until April 1934, at which time he joined the U.S. Army Corps at Kelly Field, San Antonio, Texas. In Oct. 1948 he was married to Irlene Sterrett of Enid. During World War II, he served in the Asiatic Pacific Theater with the 22nd Bomb Group. In 1949 he was assigned to the Berlin Airlift for 10 months. In December of 1958 he retired at Vance as a Master Sergeant. Subsequent to his retirement from the Air Force he was employed at Vance as a civilian for a number of years. In 1957 he became a member of the West Side Baptist Church in Enid and remained active until his deth, having served at various time as Usher, Deacon, and Sunday School Superintendent. He is survived by his nieces and nephew; Arlyne Shelton, Mansfield, TX; Barbara Winkelmeyer, Fort Worth, TX; Janis Bennett, Dallas, TX; Bonnie Manley, Dallas, TX; and James Hetherington, Dallas, TX; sister in law, Alaine Hetherington, Dallas, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother, two sisters, and a nephew, Ernest B. Golding Jr. Memorials may be made to the West Side Baptist Church with the funeral home serving as custodians. Burnice Stone Funeral services for Burnice Stone, age 84, of Enid will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Ladusau-Evans Chapel with Dr. R. Joe Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Memoirla Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. She was born March 14, 1918, in Pittsburg, KS, to Ernest and Lydia Runyan Swisher and died Saturday morning in the Greenbrier Nursing Home. She graducated from high school in Pittsburg, KS. She married Jack Stone in August of 1937 and he passed away February 1, 1987. They moved to Enid in 1950 from Hutchinson, Kansas. She was co-owner and opertor of Stone Office Machines for several yers. Burnice was a member of Oakwood Christian Church and the American Business Women Association. She is survived by her son Jack C. Stone; and grandson; Michael Stone both of Enid; and several nieces and nephews. Her daughter Carol Ann Stone; two brothers, Ernest and Bill; and two sisters, Opal and Pearl preceded her in death. Lester George Janes The funeral service for Lester George Janes, 96, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 20, 2002, at the Zoar Mennonite Church in Goltry, Oklahoma. Pastor Gary Eastin will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Enid, Oklahoma with arrangements by Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. Lester was born January 24, 1906, and died August 17, 2002, at Greenbrier Nursing Home. He was the son of Albert C. and Lizzie Kroeker Janes. he was born and raised south of Goltry and attended the 103rd District County School. He loved baseball and played on a twon team until he was approximately 40 years old. He had the good fortune of playing at the semi-pro park on Lahoma Road, where K-Mart is now located in Enid. Lester married Malinda Schultz in 1926 and they had three sons. Malinda preceded him in death on May 10, 1979. He then married Mildred Wilson on March 28, 1980, who preceded him in deth on March 8, 2002. He lived and farmed Northeast of Goltry from 1927 until 1992 when he and Mildred moved to the town of Goltry. he attended the Zoar Mennonite Church. He is survived by two sons and their wives, Gary and Dorothy and Gaylon and Kathy, all of Enid, Oklahoma. Six granchildren, Kent and Shari Janes, Karen and Alan Clepper, Tony and Gretchen Janes, Terry, Darren and Dustin Janes, five great grandchildren; Kourtney, Nichole, Brandon, Leah and Kyle, three sisters, Marie Buller, Helen Pekrul and Lorene Unruh, five step-grandchildren, Billy, Dale and Jack Wilson, Sheri Kent and Angela Harris, numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his wives, Malinda and Mildred; his son, Olin; granddaughter Roxie Lee; sister Mable; and three brothers, Clyde, Fay and Leonard. Lester enjoyed driving his tractor and farming. When he retired from farming he loved mowing his yerd. His gran-children remember him as an ornery, loving and fun grandfather. They will cherish him in their hearts for ever.
