Service pending with Wharton Funeral Chapel, Alva. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- ARTHUR ARNDT ALVA - The funeral for Arthur Templin Arndt, 87, will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church. The Revs. Bob Brown and Ron Olson will officiate. Burial will be in Alva Municipal Cemetery. Arrangements are by Marshall Funeral Home. He was born Jan. 24, 1914, to David Daniel and Pearl Smith Arndt and died Friday, Nov. 30, 2001, at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center, Enid. He attended Faulkner and Farry schools. On April 19, 1937, he married Mildred Wilson at Cedar Grove northwest of Alva. He farmed and ranched in the Alva area. He was a member of Cedar Grove Wesleyan Church, Farry School Board and the Rural Telephone Cooperative. Surviving are his wife, Mildred; two sons, Danny of Wellington, Kan., and Ken of Lamar, Colo.; one daughter, Devona Robison of Alva; one brother, Maynard of Alva; three sisters, Edna McCosker of San Antonio, Hazel Farney of Mesa, Ariz., and Thelma Tavis of Chandler, Ariz.; and two grand-children. He was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to charity of donor's choice. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- WILMA J. GUTHRIE WAYNOKA - The funeral for Wilma Jean Guthrie, 67, will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Waynoka First Baptist Church. The Revs. David Shaw and Charles Newton will officiate. Burial will be in Waynoka Cemetery. Arrangements are by Marshall Funeral Home. The casket will be open until noon Tuesday at the funeral home. It will remain closed at the church. She was born July 11, 1934, near Vici to Loyd and Gladys Drake Tomlinson and died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2001, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center. She graduated from Woodward High School. On Jan. 27, 1952, she married Marvin Thomas Guthrie at Woodward. They moved to Waynoka in 1964. She worked at First State Bank in Waynoka, retiring in 1999. She was a member of Waynoka First Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband, Marvin; one son, David of Colorado; one daughter, Pamela Davidson of Waynoka; two sisters, Charlotte Furgason of Laverne and Beth McCormick of Woodward; and two grandchildren. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Baptist Children's Home. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- WILLIAM H. SCHWARTZ YUKON - A memorial service for William Henry "Bill" Schwartz, 77, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Sanders Funeral Service Chapel at Kingfisher. He was born Aug. 15, 1924, in Merrick to William and Ethel Schwartz and died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2001, at Yukon. On June 15, 1946, he married Norma Lou "Dolly" Goodman of Pond Creek in Hennessey. They lived the past 35 years in Kingfisher. He retired from Oklahoma Natural Gas after 38 years of service as a district manager. He was a member of the Lions Club and the Oddfellows, and had served in the Army during World War II. Surviving are his wife, Dolly; two sons, Mike and Patrick, both of Yukon; two daughters, Paula Oxner of Madison Heights, Va., and Ruthie Rahmlow of Kansas City, Mo.; one brother, John of Edmond; one sister, Katie Barkley of Peck, Kan.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
