DAVIS A graveside service for Michael Anthony Davis, infant son of Laretta Davis and Elisa S. Frutea, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Babyland at Enid Cemetely. Arrangements are by Henninger-Allen Funeral Home. He was born and died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center. Besides his parents, he is survived by his grandmother, Ann Davis, and grandfather, Quinn Seal. WAGER, Minnie L., 93, Enid. Service pending with Henninger- Allen Funeral Home. (Paid Obit 12-9-1) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ROBERT EUGENE HICKLE A funeral service for Robert Eugene Hickle, age 62, will be at 1:00 p.m. today, Dec. 9, 2001, at the Anderson-Burris Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Patti Washburn officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Adcock Funeral Home of Fairland. The Elks Graveside Rites will be presented by the Enid Elks Lodge #2104. Robert was the second child born to Curt and Madge Pershall Hickle on August 30, 1939. He was born at his grandmother's home in Garber, and died Thursday, December 6, 2001, at his home in Fairland after a sudden illness. He grew up in Garber and graduated from Garber High School in 1957. He showed an aptitude for creating things with his hands and studied industrial arts at Central State University at Edmond. He was always interested in airplanes, and joined the United States Air Force to learn to be a pilot. He was in Officers' Candidate School in San Antonio, and then flight training at Vance. Flying continued to be his hobby after his military service. He later worked for the Carrier School System in North Enid as an Industrial Arts Instructor. After a teaching career, he was in the insurance and investment business for many years. Earlier this year, he moved to Fairland and worked as a case worker for the State of Oklahoma Department of Human Services. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Enid, and the Enid Elks Lodge, where he served as exalted ruler. Robert is survived by one brother, Curt Lee Hickle and his wife Sandy, of Cleveland, Ohio; one sister, Karen Sue Moore of Charlotte, North Carolina; aunts, nieces, nephews, many cousins, and a host of friends. (Paid Obit 12-9-1) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- BETTY MAY (McKINNEY)NEWKIRK Betty May (McKinney)Newkirk, 80, died Friday, December 7, 2001, after a brief illness. Betty was born to Floyd and Mary McKinney of Coldwater, KS, on September 4, 1921. She had an older brother and sister and one younger brother. She graduated from Enid High School in 1939. Betty was active in band and was a charter member of the Legionettes Drum and Bugle Corps. Betty married Court Arthur Newkirk on January 10, 1943, and had three children. She enjoyed a long and distinguished career as an account and medical transcriptionist. She also enjoyed her 60-year membership at Central Christian Church. Betty was a charter member of the Chi Beta Mothers Club. After retirement, Betty's greatest pleasure came from her friends in the Airstream's Wally Byam Caravan Club. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her older brother Lewis McKinney; and one son, Craig. She is survived by her hus band Court and daughter Janice, both of Enid; her sister, Floy Grace of Coldwater, KS; and brother John McKinney of Junction City, KS; her youngest son Court and his wife Rosalyn of Oklahoma City; grandchil dren, Mott Keys of Kansas City, MO, Arthur Keys of Miami, OK, Shonda Rea of Hutchinson, KS, Court R. Newkirk of Vance Air Force Base, Charles Harding and Kyle Newkirk of Oklahoma City. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 10, 2001, in the chapel at Central Christian Church with Rev. John McLemore officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery under direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. Memorials in her memory in lieu of flowers may be made to Central Christian Church or Hospice Circle of Love, Enid, OK, with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
