RABE WOODWARD --- The funeral for Margaret Lucille Rabe, 84, will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Cburch. Guillaume Williams, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Fargo Cemetery. Arrangements are by Goad Samaritan Funeral Service. She was born Feb. 12 1917, at Gage to Ernest R. and Esther Lee Brant Mariner and died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2001. at Woodward Regional Hospital. She attended high school at Gage and Fargo. On Aug. 1, 1934, she married Herman F. Rabe south of Shattuck. They lived on a farm south of Fargo and moved to Woodward in the early 1940s. After the tornado of 1947, they moved to Shattuck. She worked at the hospital as a doctor's assistant. In 1988, she moved to Woodward. She was a member of the Lutheran Church and served as an organist at Shattuck. She transferred her membership to the Trinity Lutheran Church at Woodward. Surviving arc two sons, Fred of Shattuck and Gary of Garber; one sister, Mildred Toellner of Woodward; and several grandchilden and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and one sister. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- VIRGINIA L RINKER SEILlNG -- The funeral for Virginia Lee Rinker, 76, will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Redinger Funeral Homc Chapel. Ewel Vaughan, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Brumfield Cemetery. She was born Dec. 15, 1924, in Lionel to Everett E. and Elsie E. Wymore Van Winkle and died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2001, at her home in Seiling after a sudden ilness. She attended Fonda School. After the family moved to a farm southeast of Seiling, she attended Seiling High School. She married Joseph Neal Rinker on May I, 1943, in Leadville, Colo. They lived in Seiling. In 1966, she graduated from Woodward Beauty College and began working with Jeanne Scheier in a beauty shop at Seiling. She later opened Virginia's Beauty Shop. She also helped her brother, Earl, with a lawn mowing business in the Seiling area. She was active in the Seiling Country Club and the Ladies Auxiliary. Surviving are one daughter, Linda Evans of Woodward; two sons, Bobby of Bessemer, Ala., and Charles of Seiling; two sisters, Christine Sughrue of Bakersfield, Calif., and Vera Lou Salinas of Broken Arrow: one brother, Earl of Seiling; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1988, one grandson and two brothers. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Area Medical Foundation. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- TRACY DON JONES WOODWARD - The funeral for Tracy Don Jones, 26, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Billings Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Jasper Overton will officiate. Burial will be in DeBolt Cemetery at Arnett. He was born April 2, 1975, in Powell, Wyo., to Billy Wayne and Janell Kay Boyles Jones and died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2001, from injuries received in an accident. He was raised in Woodward where he attended schools and worked at the juvenile detention center. He was state champion arm wrestler in three states. Surviving are one daughter, Destiny Scott of Mutual; his father, Billy Jones of Woodward; his mother, Janell Mauch of Powell, Wyo.; one sister, Tara Kidd of Woodward; two brothers, Billy Ray Mauch of Powell and Mike Jones of Woodward; and his maternal grandparents, Betty and Gene Van Dyke of Powell. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather and paternal grandparents. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- ALDRICH VRSKA HENNESSEY - The funeral for Aldrich Vrska, 76, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in First United Methodist Church. He was born Nov. 9, 1925, in Roxana and died Sunday, Dec. 9, 200 I, at his home east of Hennessey. He graduated from Marshall High School. On May 17, 1942, he married Nettie Ellen Melton at Lawton. He served in the Navy during World War II in the Pacific and earned the Naval Citation for his efforts in the invasion of Iwo Jima. Surviving are his wife, Nettie of the home; two sons, Charles of Enid and Gerald of Hennessey; one sister. Alice Fisher of Bristow; five grand- children; and seven great-grand-children. He was preceded in death by one brother. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Cancer Division. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- WANDA MAE MURPHY HENNESSEY - The funeral for Wanda Mae Sturgeon Murphy, 82, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hennessey Church of Christ. Lanny Jobe will officiate. Burial will be in Hennessey Cemetery. Arrangements are by Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home. She was born Aug. 23, 1919, north of Lacey to Orval Lynn and Maude Irene Suit Sturgeon and died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2001, at Hennessey Care Center. She graduated from Lacey High School and attended beauty school. She worked as a cosmetologist, then attended Vo-Tech in Enid where she earned her degree as a licensed practical nurse. She was a member of Hennessey Church of Christ. Surviving are two sons, James and Danny, both of Hennessey; one daughter, Jana Beth Wright of Hennessey; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the church. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- VELMA C. BROWN POND CREEK - The funeral for Velma C. Brown, 98, will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church. The Rev. Sherry Shaw will officiate. Burial will be in Blackwell Cemetery. Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral Home. She was born Dec. 14, 1902, in Wichita, Kan., to Charles and Betty Ann Willis Reiff and died Saturday, Dec, 8, 2001, in Andover Health Care Center at Andover, Kan. She married Earl Charles Brown in 1923 at Enid. She lived in Pond Creek with her grandparents, later moving to Nash. They lived in Nash until 1925, then moved to Kansas City, Mo. In 1933, they moved to Pond Creek. He opened a dentist office and was in practice for 54 years. She worked as a dental assistant, later as receptionist until 1983 when he retired. She was a member of First Christian Church and past matron of the Order of Eastern Star of Pond Creek, where she was a member for more than 80 years and was an honorary member of the Rainbow for Girls. She was a longtime member of Oklahoma State Dental Auxiliary. Surviving are one son, Reiff Brown MD; three grandchildren; and three great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1987. Memorials may be made to the church. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- JOHN W. WAGGONER DOVER - A memorial service for John Wilber Waggoner, 74, will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the First United Methodist Church. Arrangements are by Sanders Funeral Service Inc. He was born Oct. 27, 1927, in San Diego, Calif., to Wilber and Emma Waggoner and died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2001, at his home in Dover. He moved with his parents to Hennessey in 1930 and attended Hennessey High School. He entered the Navy in 1943 and was transferred into the Navy Seabees. He left the service in 1949. In 1951, he married Lyla Miller. He moved to Dover in 1960 and worked for Smith Lumber Co. until 1980. He then worked for Farrar Construction, retiring in 1991. He served as a member of Dover Volunteer Fire Department from 1960 to 1980 and rose to the rank of assistant fire chief. Surviving are one son, Justin of the home; three daughters, Mardel Whitaker of Enid, Markita Broyles of El Reno and Jana Wright of Ventura, Calif.; one brother, Roy of Hennessey; one sister, Reba Jordan of Enid; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1994, and one brother. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- EDDIE F. LANCASTER CORPUS CHRISTI. Texas A graveside service for Eddie F. Lancaster. 79, will be at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery, Enid. Arrangements are by Flour Bluff-Padre Isles Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., Corpus Christi, Texas. He was born May 1, 1922, in Yellville, Ark., to William and Dora Lancaster and died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2001, at his home in Corpus Christi. He moved to Oklahoma at an early age and attended school at Asher. He moved to New Mexico in 1936 and later moved to Enid. He joined the Navy and served in Naval Air Forces until 1946, during World War II. After his discharge, he returned to Enid. He married Marion Champney in 1947. He worked at Enid State Schools for several years, then moved to Topeka, Kan, where he worked in maintenance at the hospital. After retirement, he moved back to Enid. Due to ill health, he moved to Corpus Christi to be with family. Surviving are two sons, Nelson of Corpus Christi and Bill of Gregory, Texas; one sister, Etta Mae Edwards of Enid; and one grandson. He was preceded in death by his wife in November of 2001. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- IDABELLE P. EDSALL KINGFISHER - The funeral for Idabelle P. Edsall, 72, will be 10 a.m. today in the Lighthouse Praise and Worship Center. The Rev. George Givens will officiate. Burial will be in the Kingfisher Cemetery, Arrangements are by Sanders Funeral Service. She was born April 14, 1929, in Kingfisher to Ray and Laverna Eberhardt Parham and died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2001, at Kingfisher Regional Hospital. She lived in the Omega, Loyal and Kingfisher areas. On Oct. 3, 1948, she married Delbert Edsall in Loyal. She worked at Crums Shoe Store for 20 years. She became post master at Omega U.S. Post Office in 1988 and helped on the family farm. She was a member of Omega Baptist Church. Surviving are one daughter, Carolyn Geis of Kingfisher; two sons, Dennis "Butch" Edsall and Dr. Robert Edsall, DDS, both of Watonga; eight grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by husband and one sister.
