Service pending with Russworm Funeral Home. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ LUCILLE NAOMI WHITE ALVA - The funeral for Lucille Naomi White, 89, will be 2 p.m. Monday, at First United Methodist Church. The Revs. Weegie Williams and Lance Leslie will officiate. Burial will follow in Garrison Cemetery near Dacoma. Arrangements are by Marshall Funeral Home. She was born Aug. 22, 1912, one mile north of Dacoma to Wesley and Millie Clark Kassik and died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2001, at Share Convalescent Center. She attended grade school and graduated from Dacoma High School. She married John Glenn White May 24, 1930. They made their home in the Dacoma area where they farmed. He died March 18, 1970. She moved to Alva after the death of her husband and worked for General Hospital and Share Convalescent Home for more than 15 years. She was a member of EUB Church where she taught Sunday school. She became a member of First United Methodist Church after moving to Alva. She also was a member of the Friendly Neighbors Home Extension Club and the Rebecca Lodge. Surviving are one son, John White of Alva; two daughters, Janet Weigand of Edmond, and Judy Kinnard of C1aremore; one brother, Jimmy Kassik of Wichita, Kan.; two sisters, Rosie Parker of Oklahoma City and Juanita Harwick of Stillwater; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchils; and five great-great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband John, a granddaughter and three brothers. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Alva Senior Citizen's Center. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- JIM 'ROY J.' HODGES The funeral for Jim "Roy J." Hodges, 79, of Covington, will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. John's Lutheran Church. The Rev. Jerry Brown will officiate. Burial will follow in Hayward Cemetery. Arrangements are by Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. The casket will be open at the church until service time. He was born Nov. 23, 1922, on the family homestead three miles north of Hayward to John N. and Maud Smith Hodges and died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2001, at his home. He attended North Green Valley Grade School and was a 1940 graduate of Hayward High School. He served with the Army 740th Tank Battalion in Europe during World War II. He married Norma Mackie Nov. 26, 1948. He worked in the oilfield for many years, both before and after the war. He later worked for Garfield County District No.1 on the bridge crews. He retired Dec. 31, 1984. He also farmed most of his life. He was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Covington and a member of the American Legion Post of Covington. Surviving are his wife Norma of the home; three children, Betty Davis and Brenda Braley, both of Enid, and Les Hodges of Richmond, Va.; three sisters, Olive Hixon of Guthrie, Ada Schmidt of Covington and Ida Guthrie of Nowata; nine grand-children; and five great-grand children. He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to St. John's Lutheran Church Building Fund or the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MILDRED P. KOCHENOWER KINGFISHER - The funeral for Mildred P. Kochenower, 86, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Oak Street Baptist Church. The Rev. Kirk Sutton will officiate. Burial will follow in Kingfisher Cemetery. Arrangements are by Sanders Funeral Service Inc. She was born July 8, 1915, in Loyal to Ben and Hulda Bunch Weimer and died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2001, at Kingfisher Regional Hospital. She attended Oak Street Baptist Church. Surviving are four sons, Walter Eugene, Lester and Leon, all of Kingfisher, and Dewain of Okarche; one sister, Winnifred Geottings of Fresno, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, two grandsons, two brothers and two sisters. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- EDITH BABB The funeral for Edith Babb, 90, will be 2 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church. The Rev. Keith Miller will officiate. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery southwest of Tonkawa. Arrangements are by Henninger-Allen Funeral Home. The casket will not be opened following the service. She was born July 15, 1911, near Lamont to James C. and Charlotte H. Schlehauber Henderson and died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2001, in Enid. She married Vernon F. Babb. She was active in the Glenwood School Mothers' Club and was instrumental in establishing the first hot lunch program. She also was a member of Glenwood Neighbors Home Extension club. She served as superintendent of the flower department at the Garfield County Fair for several years and worked at the Enid Sale Barn, Patio Garden Center, Oklahoma Floral, the Garfield County Election Board as an inspector and until August 2001, worked for west- side United grocery distributing samples. She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church, TEL Sunday school class and Prime Timers. Surviving are two daughters, Sandy Magee of Enid and Judy Frisk of Celina, Texas; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
