CARMACK FAIRVIEW - The funeral for Rebecca Lynn "Becky" Carmack, 40, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church. The Rev. David Mendenhall will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home Inc. Visitation will be at the funeral home from noon to 6 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday. She was born Sept. 24, 1961, in Glendale, Calif., to B.G. "Bud" and Carlene Smith Doane and died Friday, Dec. 21, 2001, at her home in Fairview. She grew up in Glendale, moving to Greenfield in 1972. She graduated from Greenfield High School in 1980. She moved to Fairview in 1983. She married Kenneth Carmack June 10, 1995 at Fairview. She purchased a restaurant, Becky's Country Cupboard, on July 6, 2001. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Fairview and taught Sunday school to four and five year olds. She also taught Girls in Action and helped with Bible School. She was a member of Fairview Chamber of Commerce. Surviving are her husband, Kenneth of Fairview; two : daughters, Carlinda Jean Carmack of Alva and Kendra Raylene Carmack of Fairview; her parents, B.G. "Bud" and Carlene Doane; two brothers, Roger Doane of Fairview, and Ross Doane of Okeene; three sisters, Carla Schultz of Okeene, Laura Hutton and Barbara Wedel, both of Fairview. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to a scholarship fund for her daughters. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- LOUISE MAYHALL CANTON - The funeral for Lillian Louise Mayhall, 80, will be 2 p.m. today at the United Methodist Church. Sonya Toby and Robert Barr will officiate. Burial will be in Canton Cemetery. Arrangements are by Haigler Funeral Home. She was born Aug. 6, 1921, in Dewey County to George and Hazel Stinson Carpenter and died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2001, at her home. She attended school in Longdale, graduating in 1940. On Aug. 16, 1940, she married Elzon Mayhall in Oklahoma City. They lived on a farm south of Canton. She was a homemaker and helped out with Girl and Boy Scouts and Rainbow for Girls. Surviving are one daughter, Judy Edwards of Canton; one son, Jerry of Blue Springs, Mo.; one sister, Maxine Carpenter of Milton, Wash.; one brother, Sam Carpenter of Stillwater; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1992 and one sister. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the cemetery. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- EARL E. MILLER JR. WAKITA - The funeral for Earl E. Miller Jr., 74, will be 10 a.m. Monday at Wakita Christian Church. The Revs. Les Bussell and Ken McKinley will officiate. Burial will be in Wakita Cemetery. Arrangements are by Hills-Ely Funeral Home, Medford. The casket will remain closed. He was born Dec. 21, 1927, in Anthony, Kan., to Earl E. Sr. and Alice Glick Miller and died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2001, at his home in Wakita. He graduated from Wakita High School and served in the Navy. On Oct. 3, 1948, he married Shirley Jean Coulter at Wakita. He was a farmer and a carpenter, and was a member of Wakita Christian Church where he served as a deacon for many years. He was past master of Wakita Masonic Lodge. Surviving are his wife, Shirley of the home; two sons, Maurice of Anthony, Kan., and Terry of Clinton; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. KINNEY ALVA - A graveside service for Lawrence M. Kinney, 88, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Alva Municipal Cemetery. Bob Reneau will officiate. Arrangements are by Wharton Funeral Chapel. He was born June 8, 1913, northwest of Alva to Mabel Beardslee and Edward Kinney and died Friday, Dec. 21, 2001, at South Central Kansas Regional Medical Center at Arkansas City, Kan. After the death of his father in 1920, the family moved to Alva. He attended East Side Grade School and graduated from Alva High School in 1931. He attended Northwestern State College. On March 8, 1934, he married Lois Elaine Cline. He worked for A.C. Houston Lumber Co. until 1943 when he entered the Army. He was captured during the Battle of the Bulge and became a prisoner of war. He was released in 1945 and discharged later that year. They moved to Cherokee. He became manager of A.C. Houston Lumber Co. In 1958, he was transferred to Arkansas City yard as a manager until it was closed. He later owned and operated Kenney's Self Service Laundry and Dry Cleaning and the Kinney E-Z Way, retiring in 1985. He was a member of the Ex-Prisoners of Wars, Spencer-Ralston Post 1254 Veterans of Foreign Wars, Shelton Beaty Post 18 American Legion, DAV and Veterans of the Battle of the Bulge. Surviving are his wife, Lois of the home; two sons, Bob of Albuquerque, N.M., and Don of Arkansas City; and three grand children. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- VIVIAN C. FISCUS LAVERNE - The funeral for Vivian Charolette Fiscus, 70, will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Laverne Assembly of God. The Rev. Wes Peterman will officiate. Burial will be in Waynoka Cemetery. Arrangements are by Myatt-Seeger Funeral Home. She was born March 14, 1931, in Avard to Estol Vernon and Mable Marie Huddleston DeVilbiss and died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2001, at Southwest Regional Medical Center, Liberal, Kan. She attended Avard Grade School and graduated from Waynoka High School. On Nov. 14, 1948, she manied Doyal B. Bay. On April 1, 1968, she married Johnny V. Fiscus. She was a waitress and a nurses aide. She was a member of Assembly of God in Laverne, Order of the Eastern Star and taught Sunday school. Surviving are two sons, Frankie Bay of Moody, Texas, and Steve Fiscus of Edmond; four daughters, Charlotte Boliver of Lake Dallas, Texas, Barbara Boley of Durant, Tammy Mulbery of Laverne and Cyndi Travis of Liberal, Kan.; one sister, Sharon Lyon of Alva; 19 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband in 1985 and one sister. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Laverne Senior Citizens. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DAVID "PUSS" HIMES Funeral services for David "Puss" Himes, 77, will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 26, 2001, in Ladusau-Evans Chapel. Brett Himes will officiate. Burial will be in Enid Cemetery under the direction of the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. He was born in Enid September 15, 1924, to Grover David Sr. and Marie Erick Himes and died December 20, 2001. Puss enjoyed and was honored to serve in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He also enjoyed and was very successful as a Golden Glove boxer and trainer. But he achieved the most enjoyment from being a Social Club owner and making many friends through the years. He also owned and operated Himes Sandblasting and Painting for 41 years. Surviving are two sons and daughter-in-laws, Roy David and Kathy Himes of Enid, Brett Michael and Sherry Himes of Enterprise, AL; one daughter and son-in-law Terri and Freddie Simmons of Enid; two brothers, Chuck of Clinton, IA., Benny of Naples, FL; two sisters, Rosa Bond of Sandy, OR, and Zelma Miles of Arcata, CA; six grandchildren, Taylor and Cassie Himes of Enid, Kylie Himes of Enterprise, AL, Rebecca, Nicole and Jessica Simmons of Enid; and numerous nieces and nephews. (Paid Obit 12-23-2) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ARLO REAMES Arlo Reames was born December 2, 1914 in Isabella, Oklahoma to Russell Morman and Estella Mae Caldwell Reames, husband and wife and passed away December 21, 2001 at the age of 87. He was a resident of Okeene and Homestead, Oklahoma areas all his life where he was a husband, father, grandfather. and great grandfather. He was an accomplished wheat farmer. He completed his education at Homestead and was a member of many organizations in the community including board member of the United Methodist Church in Homestead and Okeene, past master of the Okeene Masonic Lodge #357, member and past patron of the order of Easter Star Chapter #210, past adviser for Rainbow Girls in Okeene, FFA sponsor and honorary member and member of the Oklahoma Wheat Commission, member of the Oklahoma Wheat Growers Association, member of the Homestead School Board and Homestead Cemetery Board. Many other accomplishments worthy of note include state tennis champion, member of the first tri-state music festival as a trumpet soloist, was honored with the title "Mr. Wheat" of Oklahoma in 1983. He was the inspiration for the poem The Wheat Farmer that was published in the Progressive Farmer. He raised seed wheat for OSU for more than 20 years. He was married to Nettie Louiese Outhier at the family farm in Homestead on February 28, 1936 and had one child, Arla Sue. On December 4, 1993, he was married to Louise Masonhall at the Okeene Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Russell Morman Reames; mother, Estella Mae Reames and his first wife, Nettie Louiese Reames. He is survived by his wife Louise and her two sons and four daughters, Leroy "Al" Eaton of Parsons, Kansas, Jimmy Masonhall of Houstin, Texas, Janice Newan of Fairview, Oklahoma, JoAnn Urban of Waynoka, Oklahoma. Joyce Wears of Elk City, Oklahoma and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is further survived by his daughter, Arla Sue Price and husband John of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her son, Ken Frazer, wife Jan and their daughters, Jennifer and Jami of Enid, Oklahoma; her daughter, Kathy Arnold and husband Brent, and their sons, Aiden and Arlo of Denver, Colorado. Additionally, he is survived by his brothers Vernon of Okeene and Bob of Fairview. Funeral services for James Arlo Reames will be held Monday, December 24, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Okeene with Rev. Ursula Branch and Rev. Harold Honnald officiating. Burial will follow in the Homestead Cemetery in Homestead, Oklahoma with Wilkinson Mortuary of Okeene in charge of arrangements.
