Service pending with Haigler Funeral Home, Canton. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MARGARET LONGSTON A funeral service for Margaret "Honey" Longston, age 88, will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 27, 2001, at Oakwood Christian Church, with the Rev. Joe Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, with arrangements by Anderson Burris Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. She was born to Nicholas Steve and Mary Angelic Krantz Banke on November 19, 1913 in Breezy Hill, Crawford County, Kansas, and died Sunday, December 23, 2001 in Tulsa. She graduated from Kansas State Teachers College in Pittsburgh, Kansas, and then taught school in Chickapee, Kansas. On September 5, 1938, she married William Henry Langston in Cherokee, Kansas. She then taught school in Kansas City. In 1970, they moved to the Enid area, where she was a homemaker and enjoyed playing bridge with her many friends. She was a member of the Oakwood Christian Church. She is survived by her husband, William Henry Longston, Sr. of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Janet Sue Briggs and husband Ray of Tulsa; one son, William Henry Langston, Jr. and wife Betsy of Bellevue, Washington; one sister, Mrs. Minnie Kazmierski of Pittsburg, Kansas; five grandchildren; and five great- grandchildren. GEITH CHEROKEE - The funeral for Walter C. Geith, 88, will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Goodwin Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Roland Youngberg will officiate. Burial will be in Cherokee Municipal Cemetery. Arrangements are by Goodwin Funeral Home. Visitations will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home. He was born Sept. 18, 1913, in Rochester, N.Y. to Peter and Magdalena Schlicker Geith and died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2001, in Integris Bass Baptist Health Center. He graduated from high school at Rochester and attended the University of Rochester and the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. He entered the Army Air Corps on May 26, 1943, and received his honorable discharge on April 1, 1946, at Mitchel Field, N.Y., as a first lieutenant. On June 2, 1947, he married Virginia Dell Smith in Cherokee. They lived in Meridian, Miss., for a time, then moved to Cherokee in 1949 where he opened Walter's Furniture Store. He sold the business and retired in 1981. Surviving are one daughter, Rilda Dell Sweeney of Tomah, Wis.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife in October 1993. SMITH ALVA - A graveside service for Okla Pauline Smith, 90, will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Garrison Cemetery at Dacoma. The Rev. Lance Leslie will officiate. Arrangements are by Wharton Funeral Chapel. She was born March 19, 1911, near Benton, Kan., to Glenna Ellen Wise and Clyde Lester Long and died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2001, in Alva Share Medical Center. She moved with family to Dacoma in 1912 where she attended school. On Oct. 12, 1929, she married Nelson Smith at Alva. They lived in Dacoma, moving to Jet in 1939. In 1940, they moved to Cleveland. She worked at Firestone Store. In 1945, she moved to Alva and worked at Quality Bakery, then moved to Dacoma in 1946. She was a member of Dacoma United Methodist Church. Surviving are one son, Clarence of Wappingers Falls, N.Y.; one sister, Ruth Arline Farris of Alva; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. FRAZIER ANTHONY, Kan. -- The funeral for Wilbur Dean Frazier, 78, will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Elliott Mortuary Chapel. The Rev. Les Bussell will officiate. Burial will be in Burchfiel Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m, Wednesday at the mortuary. He was born Nov. 3, 1923, in Anthony, to Samuel Henry and Estella M. Burchfiel Frazier and died Friday, Dec. 21, 2001, at Anthony Hospital. He was a retired machine operator for the railroad. In 1967, he married Laura Hort. Surviving are his wife, Laura of Manchester; one brother, Richard of Winfield, Kan.; and two nephews. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- LOIS MORELL PAYNE The funeral for Lois Morell Payne, 82, will be 1 p.m. Friday in First Presbyterian Church. Burial will he in Enid Cemetery. Arrangements are by Henninger- Allen Funeral Home. She was born July 31, 1919, in Enid to Louis Samuel and Mae Isabel Urban Morell and died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2001, at Golden Oaks Nursing Center. She graduated from Enid High School in 1936 and was a member of AET Sorority. She attended Gulf Park College and the University of Oklahoma. She was active in Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority, Junior Welfare League and Chapter DO ofPEO. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where she was active in the nursery and youth center for many years. Surviving are one daughter, Nancy Payne Caudill of Baltimore: two granddaughters; and four great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister, one brother and two daughters. At age three, the family moved to Monet, MO., then to Enid at age 7, In 1996, she moved to Aransas, Texas. She was an active member of Abundant Life Temple Pentecostal- Holiness Church, Royal Neighbors of America, and the Women's Temperance Christian Union. She married Joseph William Patrick in 1928. Surviving are one son, William of Boise, Idaho; one daughter, Rachel Walter of Aransas Pass, Texas; four grand-children; and four great-grandchildren. CRIGLER ROSSTON - The funeral for Sylvia Audrey Crigler, 81, will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Rosston United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, north of Rosston. She was born Feb. 10, 1920, in Rosston to Charles E. and Hattie Thompson Meliza and died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2001, in Southwest Regional Medical Center at Liberal, Kan. She graduated from Rosston High School in 1938. On Aug. 25, 1941, she married Walter E. Crigler at Buffalo. She was a homemaker and a member of Rosston United Methodist Church, Rebekah Lodge Women's Bowling Team and Neighborhood Friendship Club. Surviving are one brother, Chester Meliza of Hillsboro, Ore.; and two sisters, Jane Stevene and Ella Crigler, both of Laverne. She was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters. Memorials may be made to the church. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CLYDE L. ELLIOTT PONCA CITY - The funeral for Clyde L. Elliott, 73, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Trout Funeral Home Chapel. Margaret Carter will officiate. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery. He was born Aplil 30, 1928, in Ponca City to John and Jessie Allen Elliott and died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2001, in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. He attended Ponca City schools. He joined the Navy and served as a fireman second class, earning a victory medal. He returned to Ponca City and began his 41-year career with Pipefitters Union, working in Minnesota, Kansas City and Oregon. He served as superintendent, general foreman, welder and fitter. He spent 12 years as a boiler maker-welder. He was a member of Pipefitters Local 767, which became Local 430. On Nov. 23, 1988, he married Kathy Sprague in Ponca City. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW and Moose Lodge in Ponca City. Surviving are his wife. Kathy of the home; three daughters, Renee Caruthers of Cherokee, Sharon Simmons of Emden, Ill., and Tacy Davis of Houston; three sons, Robert of Ponca City, Ronald of Waldo, Ark., and Donald of Ponca City; one stepdaughter, Tamara Ballard of Ponca City; two stepsons. Dean Smith of Boonsville. Md., and Jonathan Morris of Ponca City; one brother, John of Tennessee; 16 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren, He was preceded in death by four sisters, two brothers and three grandchildren. She was born Oct. 27. 1894. in Crescent to Adam and America Russell and died Saturday, Dec. 23, 2001, at Greenbrier Nursing Home, Enid. She attended school in the Crescent area. In February 1910, she manied Ernest F. Steele. The family moved to Enid in 1962. She was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church. Surviving are three granddaughters, Madine Hill, Pauline Gipson and Shirley Henderson, all of Oklahoma City; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous great- great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, two children, two brothers and six sisters.
