Schafer, 79, will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Longdale Auditorium. Ray Schoonmaker will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Arrangements are by Haigler Funeral Home. He was born Sept. 23, 1922, in Canton to Isaac and Berniece Meyer Schafer and died Monday, Dec. 24, 2001, at his home. He attended schools at Hitchcock, Longdale and White Oak. On Aug. 26, 1941, he married Pearl Martin. They moved to the family farm, and he worked at Southard. They later moved to Wichita, Kan. He worked for Boeing Aircraft. They then moved to California, and he worked for Texaco Corp. Inc., from which he retired after 31 years of service. They moved back to the farm. When Langdale Community Church was destroyed by flooding, he was instrumental in helping to design and build the new church. In 1956, he became a member of the Masonic Lodge. At age 70, he received his pilot's license. Surviving are his wife, Pearl of the home; one son, Larry of Hennessey; one daughter, Barbara Carey of Fairview; five grandchildren; and seven great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother and one great-grand-son. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Hospice Circle of Love or the Canton Senior Citizens. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WALTER C. GEITH CHEROKEE - The funeral for Walter C. Geith will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Goodwin Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Cherokee Municipal Cemetery. Arrangements are by Goodwin Funeral Home. (Paid Obit 12-26-1) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- OPAL "IONA" WALLIS Funeral services for Opal "Iona" Wallis, age 72, of Enid will be 11:00 a.m. today at the Ladusau-Evans Chapel with Dr. Ron Adrian and Rev. Wade Burleson officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Iona was born May 22, 1929 in Wanette, OK to Wiley Ray and Opal Irene Cox Wallace and passed away Saturday morning in the St. Mary's Regional Health Center. Iona married Austin Wallis on April 17, 1949 in Enid. She lived in Enid most of her life. She enjoyed her children and grandchildren. Iona liked to travel and was a "people person." She sold real estate for a number of years and was employed with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home until she retired to travel with her husband. She was a member of the Seminole Baptist Church in Springfield, MO and Emmanuel Baptist Church in Enid. She was a member of the Airstream Club and enjoyed her many friends in church and the Airstream Club. Her husband Austin of the home; daughter Cheryl Suiter and her husband Michael; son Kent and his wife Diane Austin; her grandchildren 'Shelly Olsen and her husband Greg, Sarah Wallis and Zachary Wallis; great granddaughter Taylor Olsen all of Enid; several cousins and many friends survive her. Her parents preceded her in death. Memorials may be made to the Seminole Baptist Church, Springfield, MO or Emmanuel Baptist Church with Ladusau-Eyans Funeral Home, P.O. Box 3501, Enid, OK 73702 serving as custodians of the fund. The casket will be open until service time. PATRICK V Funeral services for Rachel Corinne Patrick, 96, year-old former Enid resident, will be Thursday, December 27, at 2:00 p.m. in the Henninger-Allen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Terry Walborn presiding. There will be a private burial at a later date. Viewing will be the day of the service. She was born September 14, 1905, in Beardstown, Ill., to John and Katie (Piehler) Williams in the house her grandfather, David Pieler built, and died December 19, 2001 in Aransas, TX. At age three, the family moved to Monet, Missouri. At age seven, they moved to Enid where she lived until 1996 until to moving to Aransas, TX to live with her daughter. She was an active member of Abundant Life Temple Pentecostal- Holiness Church, Royal Neighbors of America, and the Women's Temperance Christian Union. She found the Lord as her savior at 14 years and taught Sunday school until age 91. She married Joseph William Patrick in 1928. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1984, and her parents. She is survived by son William Patrick of Boise, Idaho, and her daughter Rachel Walter of Aransas Pass, Texas. She has four grand-children and four great- grandchildren. (Paid Obit 12-26-1) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MARGARET BANKE LONGSTON A funeral service for Margaret "Honey" Longston, age 88, will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 27, 2001, at Oakwood Christian Church, with the Rev. Joe Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, with arrangements by Anderson Burris Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. She was born to Nicholas Steve and Mary Angelic Krantz Banke on November 19, 1913 in Breezy Hill, Crawford County, Kansas, and died Sunday, December 23, 2001 in Tulsa. She graduated from Kansas State Teachers College in Pittsburgh, Kansas, and then taught school in Chickapee, Kansas. On September 5, 1938, she married William Henry Langston in Cherokee, Kansas. She then taught school in Kansas City. In 1970, they moved to the Enid area, where she was a homemaker and enjoyed playing bridge with her many friends. She was a member of the Oakwood Christian Church. She is survived by her husband, William Henry Longston, Sr. of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Janet Sue Briggs and husband Ray of Tulsa; one son, William Henry Langston, Jr. and wife Betsy of Bellevue, Washington; one sister, Mrs. Minnie Kazmierski of Pittsburg, Kansas; five grandchildren; and five great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister, Ruby Beasley.
