All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Norris Oliver Bonnewell Norris Oliver Bonnewell, 72, 321 W. Cedar, died in a local hospital early Thursday. His service will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Chick officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Bonnewell was born June 19, 1905, near Blackwell in Retta Community, Indian Territory. He later moved to Major County near Belva where he attended school. At the age of 14, he joined the Lone Star Baptist Church at Belva. On Feb. 27, 1931, he married Valeria Daniels at Woodward, and they lived at Belva for several years, moving to Blackwell in 1941 where he was employed by Zinc Smelter. In 1949, they moved to Alva where he as employed as a machinist at Internatioal Harvester Company. The couple moved to Enid in 1961. Bonnewell was a member of the American Legion in Alva, Masonic Lodge No 62 in Pierre, S. D. and had served with the United States Army and the United States Marine Corps. when a young man. Survivors include his wife, Valeria; one daughter, Mrs Wayne (Olive) Meritt, Enid; five sons, Kermit F., Arnett, Robert D., Sioux City, Iowa, Clinton, Plano, Texas, Daniel D. Oklahoma City, and Carlos J., Newton, Iowa; 30 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one brother, Kenneth, Blackwell; and one sister, Vera Coltaux, Wichita, Kan.
