The memorial service for Viola M. Cox will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Calvary 
Lutheran Church in Grants Pass. Pastor Don Carlson will officiate.

Mrs. Cox, 89, of Grants Pass, died Wednesday (Sept. 18, 2002) at her home. 
Private interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Grants Pass.

She was born July 16, 1913, in Fairmont, Okla., to Fred and Olga Woelke. 
On Nov. 4, 1961, in La Crescenta, Calif., she married Thomas Cox, who died 
in 1978. She moved to Grants Pass in 1980 from Glendale, Calif.

While living in California, Mrs. Cox volunteered with the Girl Scouts and 
Brownies.

She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church and the church Altar Guild. 
Mrs. Cox enjoyed traveling and painting.

Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Ward, Grants Pass; and a brother, 
Walter Woelke, Ambrose, Ga.
