All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::CREMATED Donald Cashon Napa Valley Register Thursday, April 05, 2007 SANTA ROSA - Donald Cashon, 44, died as a result of a motorcycle accident in Santa Rosa on March 31, 2007. Don was born in Rising Fawn, Ga., to Clarence and Iris Cashon. The family moved to Napa in 1962 where he attended local schools. In 1979, Don joined the Marine Corps but was unable to continue his chosen career due to epilepsy. Don met and married the love of his life, Kathy Nicol, on Feb. 15, 1986, in Napa. For several years after their marriage, Don and Kathy lived in Enid, Okla. Upon their return to California, they made their home in Santa Rosa, where Kathy works for the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Department as a correctional officer. Don has always been the “go-to guy” for the family. He was always the first to offer help; he gave selflessly of his time to help family and friends. One of Don’s greatest joys was traveling with his family and camping along the way. He was looking forward to traveling again to the Grand Canyon and Zion National Park. Donald was preceded in death by his father and brother, Jerry Cashon. He is survived by his wife, Kathy, daughter Amanda (Cashon) Medley and her husband, Josh, and grandson Nathaniel, all of Wyoming; his mother, Iris, of Georgia; father and mother-in-law Jim and Carol (Roman) Nicol of Vacaville; sister Linda (Cashon) Curtis; Jo (Cashon) Coward; brothers Jim and Tom. He will be greatly missed by his extended family, Steve and Marilyn Roman, Daniel Roman, Chris and Lindsey Roman, Ron Roman, all of Napa; Rick and Bonnie Roman of Susanville; Matt and Stephanie Roman of Nevada; Dan and Melissa (Roman) Miller of Georgia; Joe and Jeanne Ayala; David, Michelle and Nick Ayala of Oregon; Del and April (Ayala) Goetz of Sacramento; and Mike and Shannon (Roman) Bentley of Germany and countless nieces, nephews and close friends. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, April 7, at 5:30 p.m. at Daniels Chapel of the Roses, 1225 Sonoma Ave., Santa Rosa. Private Inurnment.
