CAMPBELL (PHOTO) OKEENE ­ The funeral for Jimmy L. Campbell, 66, will be 10:00 a.m. Monday at Parker Chapel Christian Union Church near Ames. The Revs. John Edwards and Steve Campbell will officiate. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Meno. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. today, 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, and after the service Monday. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home. He was born Aug. 8, 1935, at Ringwood to Paul Bloxen Campbell and Ethel V. Veath Campbell and died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2002, at Okeene Hospital. He graduated from Ringwood High School and attended college for one year before enlisting in the Army. He served from 1955 to 1958, and he attained the rank of sergeant. He married Sammie Ruth Tannahill June 16, 1958, at Ringwood. They shared 43 years of marriage together. He was in the retail business for 10 years in California, worked in the real estate business and was a farmer for a time. In 1998, he retired from the USG Plant near Southard where he had worked as a night watchman for 13 years. He was a member of Parker Chapel Christian Union Church and had been a resident of the Ringwood, Ames and Okeene area most of his life. Surviving are his wife, Sammie of the home; one son, Jimmy L. Campbell Jr. of Enid; one daughter, Sherrie Renee Tinglum of Palouma, Wash.; one brother, Waldo L. Campbell of Ringwood; three grandchildren; and two step- grandchildren. Campbell, 66, who died Thursday, February 21, 2002 at the Okeene Hospital will be held on Monday, February 25, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at parker Chapel Christian Union Church near Ames with Pastors John Edwards and Steve Campbell officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Meno with arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home of Okeene. Jimmy was born on August 8, 1935 at Ringwood, Oklahoma, the son of Paul Bloxen Campbell and Ethel V. Veath Campbell. Campbell and his wife, Mary of Ringwood; one nephew, Steve Campbell and his wife, Loretta of Ringwood as well as numerous cousins and beloved friends. The casket will be open at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and after the service on Monday. Memorials may be made to the Parker Chapel Youth Camp through the funeral home.
