Garfield County. Harry was a native of Guthrie, OK and was born 01-03-1897 to William & Ida DAVIS. Harry was the brother of Blanche (Davis) SMITH, (Tucson, AZ). The DAVIS family lived at Guthrie, Fairview and Enid, OK. Harry M Davis married Verna B. SALISBURY of Wichita, KS on June 18, 1917 at The Gospel in Wichita. They lost and infant to death and later had a second child, a son named Merle Armond DAVIS, born 03-06-1920 at Enid, OK. Harry & Verna parted in 1922. (Merle Armond DAVIS-Sears and family are now of Townsend, MT). Harry remarried to Hulda Ellen FILLEBAUM of KS on 11-2-1925 in Enid, where they divorced in 1936. Harry lived in Wichita, KS for approx. 30 years before returning to Enid in 1952. Harry owned his business, operating motor cleaning and tire regrooving services. He was a member of the Baptist Church and the American Legion. Harry and his wife Peggy E. (Brewer) Howe, Davenport DAVIS resided at 342 South Seventh, Enid, OK at the time of Harry's death, 11-20-1960. Funeral Director: Henninger-Allen Officiated by: Lewis L. Corporon Burial Enid Cemetery; 11-23-1960 Pallbearers: Kenneth Sprinkle, Kenneth Buchanon, A.E. States, Robert Pope and Frank Woods. *Wife Peggy (Brewer) Davis was buried next to Harry M Davis at Enid Cemetery, upon her death in October 1970.
