DICK ALAMO, Texas ­ The funeral for Wuanita Evelyn Dick, 86, will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Hills-Ely Funeral Home Chapel at Medford. The Rev. Bobby Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Rosemound Cemetery. Blackwell Eastern Star Chapter No. 67 will give a burial ceremony. She was born April 11, 1915, in Enid to Bert and Lena Viola Hawshaw Veeder and died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2002, at Edinburg Regional Hospital in Edinburgh, Texas. She attended Enid and Marland schools. In 1944, she married Elvin A. Dick at Pawhuska. They lived in Anthony, Kan., and Cherokee before moving to Medford in 1950. The couple ran the airports in these towns for 20 years before moving to Alamo. They farmed, had orchards and raised vegetables until 1989. She was a homemaker and a member of Alamo Community Church and Blackwell Eastern Star Chapter No. 67. She was active with Rainbow for Girls. She was preceded in death by her husband on April 19, 2001. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Medford Cemetery Association. ============= ENID NEWS & EAGLE 28 Feb 2002 WUANITA E.
