At the age of 13 she united with the Christian Union church and later united with the Church of the Nazarene in the Rose Hill community. She was married to George M. Daugherty in 1898 at Enid, Oklahoma. She was the mother of 14 children, 7 of whom preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband and seven children: Clifford of Grimes, L.J. of Alamosa, Colorado, Beulah Isch of Grimes, Virgie Butler of Cheyenne, Earl of Grimes, Raymond and Bertha of the home address, 12 grandchildren and two brothers also survive: Will and Henry Gilbert of Nelson, Missouri. Her kind disposition and Christian life caused everyone to love her. She will be greatly missed in the community. She was always ready to help anyone in need. The funeral was held at Dempsey school house Friday at two o'clock with Rev. Lasncaster and Rev. Kurtz officiating. Burial was in the Dempsey cemetery, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with the Moore Funeral Home of Sayre in charge.
