ESAU (PHOTO) The funeral for Leona I Esau, 82, will be 2 p.m. Monday in Grace Mennonite Church. Steve Cutter, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Hopedale Mennonite Cemetery. Arrangements are by Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Visitation with family will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. She was born Feb. 26, 1919, in Meno to Isaac and Mary Wedel Koehn and died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2002, at Golden Oaks Nursing Center. She was raised in the Meno community and graduated from Oklahoma Bible Academy in 1938. On Aug. 27, 1944, she married Harold J. Esau at Meno. She was a member of Grace Mennonite Church. She moved to Golden Oaks Retirement Center Oct. 1, 1999. Surviving are her husband, Harold of the home; four sons, Vergil of Wichita, Kan., LaVerne of Hillsboro, Kan., Marlin of Enid and Theron of Fresno, Calif; six daughters, Blanch Softley of Phoenix, Ethel Thompkins of Columbia, S.C. Eleanor Cockrell of Owens Crossroads, Ala., Eunice Lee of Oklahoma City, Bernice Crown of west Plains, Mo., and Doris Killman of Enid; one brother, Linley Koehn of Ringwood; 30 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, three brothers and two sisters.
