All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ENID NEWS & EAGLE 22 Feb 2002 WILDA MARIE FYFFE (PHOTO) FAIRVIEW --- A graveside service for Wilda Marie Fyffe, 80, will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Fairview Cemetery. The Rev. Jeff Manuel will officiate. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home Inc. She was born March 1, 1921, south of Fairview to Earl Humphrey and Wilda Alice Welch Humphrey and died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2002, south of Meno. She grew up and attended school in Fairview. Following high school, she worked for Dr. Smith. She married George Raymond Carpenter in 1938 in the Fairview area. They made their home in Fairview. He died in 1970. She married Ira J. Fyffe July 22, 1971, in Enid. They made their home on a farm near Ames. She worked at Fairview Fellowship Home as a nurses aide for 10 years, retiring 1986. Surviving are her husband, Ira of Meno; five sons, Robert Carpenter of Tulsa, Allen Carpenter of California, Charles Carpenter of Modesto, Calif., Frank Carpenter of California, and Bruce Carpenter of Del Norte, Colo.; one daughter, Wanda Watson of Fairview; a step-daughter, Mary Louise Wood of Memphis, Tenn.; one brother, Dale Humphrey of Missouri; one sister, Opal Keeton of Fairview; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, an infant son, a daughter, three sisters and three brothers.
