All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Amarillo Globe News 30 April 1998 Gruhlkey, Percy Henry ADRIAN - Percy Henry Gruhlkey, 86, died Monday, April 27, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Adrian United Methodist Church with the Rev. Rich Jones, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Vega by Vega Funeral Home. Mr. Gruhlkey was born in Enid, Okla., and had lived in Adrian for 80 years. He graduated from Vega High School in Vega and Draughon's Business College in Amarillo. He owned and operated Caprock Service Station for many years. He was a carpenter and also was engaged in farming and ranching. He was a member of Adrian United Methodist Church. Mr. Gruhlkey married Marie Scott in 1933 at Tucumcari, N.M. She died in 1988. He also was preceded in death by a son, John Henry Gruhlkey, in 1995. Survivors include a daughter, Esther Banks of Plainview; a brother, R.M. Gruhlkey of Adrian; and four grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to Adrian United Methodist Church.
