Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in Pampa with the Rev. Jake Clements officiating. Cremation and arrangements are by Stickley-Hill Funeral Directors of Canadian. Mr. Hathoot was born and raised in Enid, Okla., where he graduated from high school. In 1957, he received his degree in animal husbandry from Oklahoma State University. He was in the cattle business for 40 years. In the early 1960s, Mr. Hathoot purchased the feed yard in Morton. He moved to Canadian in 1982 where he managed the Canadian Feed Yard. He coowned the livestock auction in Hope, Ark., the McLean Feedyard in McLean and the B&H Cattle Company in Canadian. Mr. Hathoot was a member of the vestry at St. Matthews Episcopal Church in Pampa. He was a member and president in 1991 of the Texas Cattle Feeders Association. He married Janie Matthews in 1983. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Ginny Bailey of Midland and Merilee Dougherty of Grapevine; a son, Joe Edward Hathoot of Texarkana; two stepsons, Patrick Matthews of Little Rock, Ark., and Michael Matthews of Texarkana; a brother, Dale Hathoot of Mission; three grandsons; and two stepgranddaughters. The body will not be available for viewing. The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, memorials be to St. Matthews Episcopal Church, 727 W. Browning St., Pampa, TX 79065.
