She attended Enid Business School and was employed at Central National Bank for more than 40 years as an executive secretary for A.E. Stephenson, Bud Stephenson and Bud Stephenson Jr. She retired in 1970. Surviving are numerous cousins. She graduated from Cherokee High School on Aug. 18, 1972, she married Howard R. "Dink" Godwin Sr. at Hereford. She was employed in the Pentagon as secretary for the Joint Chief's of Staff, then as secretary for James W. Witherspoon in the law firm of Witherspoon, Aikin and Langley. At the time of retirement, she was employed with Pitman Industries. She was a charter member of Beta Sigma Phi, various bridge clubs, Hereford Country Club and St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Surviving are two sons, Greg Johnson of Amarillo, Texas, and Brad Johnson of Hereford; two stepsons, Bud Godwin of Arlington, Texas, and Gary Godwin of Canadian, Texas; one sister, Norma Stein of Cherokee; one brother, Lynn Pollock of Cherokee; 11 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband on Aug. 18, 1990, and one sister. He was an all-conference football player and received a football scholarship for two years at Oklahoma State University. He worked in the oilfields for two years, then attended Cameron University two years on a football scholarship and was on the all-star team. On July 29, 1977, he married Brenda Holmes at Lawton. He worked at Goodyear for 22 years. He was a member of Ringwood Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Brenda of the home; two daughters, Margaret "Magen" McElhaney of Elgin, and Sarah Lynn Briley of the home; his parents, K.A. and Clara May Briley of Ringwood; one brother, Buddy of Ringwood; and one sister, Freda Briley of Lawton. She graduated from Ames High School in 1926, then taught one year at Forrest Home School, north of Ames. She married Howard Spillman Hoisington on July 27, 1927, in Fairview. She was a longtime member of Ames Baptist Church and served as Sunday school teacher. She was a member of Rebekah Lodge in Ames and the Ames War Mothers. Surviving are two sons, Kenneth of Ames and Kenton of Tryon; two brothers, John Patton of Enid and Leroy Patton of Ames; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Surviving are two daughters, Patricia Bogard of Lugoff, S.C., and Susan Cline of Piedmont; one son, John of Enid; one brother, Stanley Hewett of Oklahoma City; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was employed at Enid State School for 19 years before retirement. Surviving are one daughter, Anedria Brown of Enid; five stepchildren, Dorothy Walker of Enid, Deloris Herbert of Baltimore, Neola Jennings of Oklahoma City, Donna Faye Johnson of Monterey, Calif., and Wanda J. She worked for Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, Kan., and later for Gensman Hardware on the Square in Enid. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Enid. She moved to Berryville eight years ago. She was born June 10, 1917, southeast of Ames to Earl and Ethel Gibson Crawford and died Monday, Dec. 31, 2001, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center, Enid. She graduated from Ames High School and Draughns Business School in Oklahoma City. On Dec. 21, 1936, she married Buster Lehenbauer in Purcell. She was a member of Salem Methodist Church at Drummond. Mrs. Hoisington was born on October 20, 1905, in Ames, Oklahoma, the daughter of Roy and Alice Huffington Patton, and died early Sunday morning, December 30, 2001, in Greenbrier Nursing Home. She was raised and educated in the Ames area and graduated from Ames Hight School in 1926. She taught one year at Forrest Home School north of Ames. She married Howard Spillman Hoisington in Fairview, Oklahoma on July 27, 1927. He preceded her in death on June 29, 1992. She was a longtime member of Ames Baptist Church where she served her church as Sunday school teacher. Her grandfather was the founding minister of Ames Baptist Church. She was a member of the Rebakah Lodge in Ames, and Ames War Mothers. She is survived by two sons, Kenneth Ray and wife Donna Hoisington of Ames, and Kenton Dale and wife Marietta of Tryon, Oklahoma, nine grand- children, sixteen great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. Two brothers, John Patton of Enid, and Leroy Patton of Ames. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter in 1928, two sisters, and four brothers. Felt on January 2, 1938, in Elgin, OK and he passed away on March 12, 1997. They moved to Enid in 1954. She graduated from Cameron College in Lawton with an agriculture degree. Jr. and Doris Baylis Robertson, and died Monday, Dec. 24, 2001, at her home. In 1973, she married Dr. Raymond Fear. They moved to Enid in 1996. She attended First Presbyterian Church. Surviving are her mother, Doris Robinson of Huntington; and one brother, John III of Huntington. She was preceded in death by her husband on April 16, 2001. --- Chloe Sharp: S610 Wichita, Kan.--The funeral for Chloe Sharp, 90, will be 10 a.m. Friday in Cochran Mortuary at Wichita. A graveside service will be 1 p.m. Friday in North IOOF Cemetery at Marchall. She was born April 18, 1911, in Marshall to Fred A. and Mary E. Brathwaite Roberts and died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2002. She had moved to Wichita in 1951 and was a retired Coleman Co. sales and service employee, retiring in 1983. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Ivy Leaf Chapter No. 75 since 1962 and an active member of Riverview Baptist Church. On Aug. 3, 1933, she married Roy Sharp in Perry. Surviving are two daughters, Barbara Helme and Twyla Love, both of Wichita; one sister, Esther Tanquary of Haysville, Kan.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granchild. Burial was in Mound Valley Cemetery. Arrangements were by Lockstone Funeral Home. She was born Sept. 7, 1929, to Joe and Dorothy Omer Carter and died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2001. She graduated from Thomas High School in 1947 and was an active member of the First Baptist Church. She enrolled in nursing school at Oklahoma City and on Sept. 11, 1947, married K.D. Bobbins. They moved to Thomas. She was a member of Royal Neighbors and served a term as president of the Ladies VFW Auxiliary. In 1953, they moved to Eva. They returned to Thomas in 1956 and established Dobbins Bros. Implement Inc. and Dobbins Bros. Farm. She later moved to Enid and joined Emmanuel Baptist Church where she played the piano. She married Jack Young and worked in the office at Bass Baptist Hospital. She continued her career at St. Mary's Hospital, working in various depart- ments. Her last position was inhalation therapist. They moved to Breckin- ridge in 1980 and later returned to Enid. Surviving are one daughter, Carol Doak; one son, Kent; one sister, Pat Barnett; seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. --- Irene A. She was born June 16, 1919, in Gibbon to Thomas Joseph and Annie Gallagher Kenny and died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2002, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center. She graduated from Manchester High School in 1937, then entered St. Mary's School of Nursing. She graduated as a registered nurse in 1940 and was employed by Dr. F.M. Duffy for many years. On June 8, 1942, she married Bill L. Cummings in Enid. From 1955 to 1957, she worked for Dr. Waldo J. Newell Jr. She also worked at General, Villa Madonna and St. Mary's hospitals. In later years, she was a private duty nurse. She graduated from Enid Beauty College as a beautician in 1967 and was a foster grandmother at Enid State School for many years. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, St. Mary Madagline Study Club, Altar Society of which she was a past "Mother of the Year," Legion of Mary and the Catholic Daughters of America. Surviving are one daughter, Bea Parker of Enid; two sons, Bill and Joe, both of Enid; three brothers, Ed Kenny of Medford, Jerry Kenny of Davis, Calif., and Joe Kenny of Pueblo, Colo.; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband on April 6, 1979, one son, one granddaughter, four brothers and three sisters. When it closed, she became a member of Watonga Christian Church. On June 24, 1933, she married Leslie L. "Pete" Bradford. Surviving are her husband, Leslie of the home; two sons, James of Torrance, Calif., and Jerry of Watonga; one daughter, Carol Wray of Watonga; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was born April 10, 1930, near Perry to John C. and Grace Washabaugh and died Friday, Dec. 28, 2001. He had been a resident of the Okeene Nursing Home for the past several years. He was born on July 18, 1920 in Enid, OK, to Lewis and Effie Mae Wickline. He was a graduate of Enid High School, went on to UCLA and received his electrical engineering degree from the University of California, Berkley. He had seen a lot of the world, serving as a GI in WWII as a crewman on B-24's in locations such as North Africa, Italy, and Brazil. He married his high school sweetheart, Dorrethea after the war and made a home and family with her until her passing last year, after 54 years of marriage. They moved to Oklahoma City after college and stayed very active in civic organizations, professional organizations, and the Crown Heights Christian Church where they both served as deacons. Lewis was a lifetime member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Condition- ing Engineers and was instrumental in making the Central Oklahoma Chapter one of the most active and successful in the world. He is survived by his sons: Greg Wickline of OKC and Larry Wickline & wife, Linda, and their children: Carl, Sarah, and Samuel. He served in the United States Air Force during World War II, and was stationed at Vance Air Force Base. On February 6, 1944, he married Mary Ruth Baker at Central Christian Church in Enid. They made their home in Enid, where they owned and operated Clifton Cooper General Tire Service. He retired in 1983 when he sold the business to Harold Singer. Later he was a salesman for Stuart Pontiac-Cadillac. He was a member of Central Christian Church, serving as Chairman of the Board, President of the Congregation, and Elder Emeritus; Charter Member of the Sooner Sunday School Class, and past president of that class. He was also a member of the Men's Garden Club and former member of the Noon Lions Club. After he retired, he and his wife loved to travel. They visited Israel twice. Hawaii, Canada and Mexico were favorites. He is survivied by his wife Mary Ruth, of the home; two sons, Tim Cooper of Texas, and Brad Cooper and wife Cindy of Norman; four grandchildren, Lindsay Cooper, Robyn Johnson and husband Charles, William Cooper and wife Heather, and Matthew Cooper; and three great-grandsons, William Cooper, Skylar Cooper and James Johnson. After his discharge, he returned to OU where he graduated from the school of engineering. On Jan. 14, 1945, he married Pauline Faye Bruce at Oklahoma City. He was the first mayor of the Village in Oklahoma City. In 1956, they moved to Enid. He founded Kenneth L. Sain and Associates, a consulting engineering firm, where he was licensed in five states. He retired in 1985. He served in the Naval Reserve for 19 years, retiring as Lieutenant commander. He was a member of First Presby- terian Church of Enid and Enid VFW Post No. 2270. He worked for ONG as a transmis- sion superintendent for 40 years, retiring in 1986. He was a World War II veteran, serving with the Army Air Corps, in which he earned the rank of staff sergeant. He also was a member of the American Legion, Kiwanis and Redeemer Lutheran Church. They lived on the Chance family farm north of Mooreland. In 1961, the family moved into Mooreland. She later worked as a nurse's aide at Mooreland Hospital, retiring in May 1979. In August of that year, she began child home care. She was a member of Mooreland First United Methodist Church. She played the piano at Haskew Baptist Church and later attended First Baptist Church in Mooreland. Surviving are her four children, Judith Ann Morton of Piedmont, Gary Ray Chance of Shattuck, Connie Louise Sharp of Weatherford and Jody Reinhart of Mooreland; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Hart was born Aug. 19, 1904, in Sedalia, Colo. to Mr. and Mrs. Joseph William Hart. Arthur graduated from Enid (Okla.) Business College and became an electronics instructor for the government during World War II. Mr. Hart was married to Olive Josephine Baker of Kingfisher, Okla., March 14, 1937, at the First Methodist Church in Kingfisher. Arthur and Olive had two children, James Arthur and Eloise Katherine, who were the love of their life. Arthur and Olive moved to River Oaks in December 1947, when Arthur began work at Consolidated Aircraft Co., later Convair and General Dynamics where he worked as an electronics technician for 23 years. Olive and Arthur celebrated their 50th and 60th wedding anniversaries, hosted by their children and families at River Oaks United Methodist Church. During his retirement Arthur enjoyed his hobby of genealogy, tracing the Hart family name back to John Hart of New Jersey, a signer of the Declara- tion of Independence. Preceding Arthur in death were brothers, Alphia of Enid, Okla., Harold of Kansas City, Mo., Raymond, who was lost in World War II as an Army Air Corps tail gunner in a B-24 Liberator bomber, originally from Marshall, Okla., Clarence of Sacramento, Calif., and Bill of Wichita, Kan.; and one sister, Marie Hart Derby of Enid. Tena was a volunteer at Bass Hospital for many years. He attended Quinlan schools, then worked on the Fort Supply Dam. On Jan. 31, 1942, he married Oma B. Highfill in Woodward. They lived in Woodward for a short time, then moved to the family farm north of Mooreland. In 1942, he was drafted into the Army, serving in the infantry in Africa, Italy and Germany during World War II. He was awarded the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and Good Conduct Medal and was discharged in 1945. They moved to a farm east of Curtis before moving back to Mooreland. In 1950, they moved to Oklahoma City. He worked for Tinker Air Base before moving to Wichita. He worked for Cities Service Natural Gas Co., which is now Williams Co. Inc. They moved to Mooreland in 1976. He continued to work for Cities Service, retiring in June of 1980 due to impaired hearing. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Mooreland, and was ordained as a deacon in Calvary Baptist Church, Ulysses, Kan., in 1956. Surviving are his wife, Oma of the home; three daughters, Veta A. Floyd of Santa Fe, N.M., Linda Lea Brookshire of Amarillo, Texas, and Sherry Birk- head of Conroe, Texas; one son, Marty of Hot Springs Village, Ark.; two sisters, Velma Ketcherside and Edith Foster, both of Woodward; 13 grand- children; and 10 great-grandchildren. He returned to Enid in September of 1999, and in October of that year was diagnosed with metastasized lung cancer. He was a longtime member of University Place Christian Church. She married George Ohnick on Oct. 12, 1936. They had one daughter. He was killed in an automobile accident in 1943. She returned to Hammon and taught school before being employed by the Soil Con- servation Service at Hammon. She transferred to the Woodward SCS office, then on to Boise City where she established a new SCS office. On March 12, 1949, she married Claude Elliott. They lived in Elk City for two years and she managed the Tisdal Hospital. In 1961, they moved to Woodward and opened Northwest Collections, which they operated, along with Western Union. After his death in 1968, she became credit manager of Fetzer-Meece Clinic, retir- ing in 1979. She was former president of Woodward Business and Profession Women's Club and was a Gray Lady volunteer at Woodward Hospital. She was a member of Fifth Street Church of Christ for more than 50 years. Surviving are one daughter, Myrna Lawrence-Bailey of Oklahoma City; two grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by three brothers, one sister and one great- granddaughter.
