KNOX A graveside service for Violet Geneva Knox, 88, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Enid Cemetery. Arrangements are by Henninger-Allen Funeral Home. A memorial service was observed at 10 a.m. Feb. 23 in First United Methodist Church of Donna, Texas. The Rev. Leo Baca officiated. The family will go in precession Wednesday from Henninger-Allen Funeral Home Chapel to the graveside. She was born March 20, 1913, in Enid to John and Minnie Hoshaw Woolard and died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002, at the Comfort House in McAllen, Texas. She attended Enid schools and Enid Business College and was an active member of First Methodist Church. In 1937, she married Ray Anthony Allen. She married Orville Harry Knox in 1962. She was a bookkeeper and credit manager of Enid Paper Co. for 15 years and worked at Vance Air Force Base for 10 years. In 1977, she retired. They moved to Rio Grande Valley. They lived in Alamo, Texas. She was a member of First united Methodist Church of Donna. Surviving are one son, Jerry Raymond Allen of San Diego; one daughter, Patsy Gene Shaffer of Bartlesville; one stepson, Robby Jay Knox of Enid; one stepdaughter, Donna Smith of Tullohoma, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband. ============== ENID NEWS & EAGLE 26 Feb 2002 GENEVA KNOX (PHOTO) The graveside service for Violet Geneva Knox, 88-year-old former Enid resident will be Wednesday, February 27, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. in the Enid Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Henninger-Allen Funeral Home. She was born to John and Minnie (Hoshaw) Woolard in Enid on March 20, 1913 and went to be with her Lord on February 20, 2002 at the Comfort House in McAllen, TX. She attended Enid schools and Enid Business College and was an active member of the First Methodist Church most of her life. In 1937 she married Ray Anthony Allen, then in 1962 she married Orville Harry Knox, both of whom are now deceased. She worked for 15 years as a bookkeeper and credit manager of Enid Paper Company and 10 years at Vance Air Force Base. In 1977 upon her retirement, she moved to the Rio Grande Valley with her husband, Orville and became a resident of Alamo, TX. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Donna, TX. She is survived by a son, Jerry Raymond Allen and his wife, Barbara, of San Diego, California; a daughter, Patsy Gene Shaffer and her husband, Steve of Bartlesville, OK; a step-son, Robby Jay Knox and his wife Sandy of Enid, OK, and a step-daughter, Donna Smith, of Tullahoma, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her dear cousin, Waunita Dick of Alamo, TX, and her longtime companion and closest friend, Helen Doyle of Weslaco, TX. Memorial services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday morning, February 23, at the First United Methodist Church in Donna, TX with the Rev. Leo Baca officiating. The family will go in procession from the Henninger-Allen Chapel to the graveside. Her cheerful smile and hugs and kisses will be missed by many friends and family.
