He was born on October 7, 1913 to Charles & Amy Downing Miler in Douglas, OK. Verl attended Douglas High School & Enid Business College and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He worked as an accountant for FAA and, after retirement, he worked until age 80 for the Putnam City School Maintenance Dept. He was a long time member and Deacon of Putnam City Baptist Church and with his wife, Malinda, volunteered for seven years at Bethany Hospital. He is preceded in death by his son, Larry Miler, and brother, Ivan Miler. Survivors include his wife, Malinda Lou Morris Miler; son, Lynn Miler, & wife, Karen, of Stillwater; daughter-in-law, Kathy Miler, OKC; four grandchildren: Jennifer, Stephanie, Joshua & Katie, and two great- grandchildren: Caleb & Katelynn. The family has designated the Putnam City Baptist Church Building Fund for expressions of sympathy. Services will be 10:00 AM, Monday, July 22, at Putnam City Baptist Church, with interment at 2:00 PM in Memorial Park Cemetery, Enid. OK.
