Maynard was a resident of Okmulgee, Oklahoma for 33 years. He was born Wednesday, July 7, 1920 in Garber, Oklahoma to Loy and Maude Maynard and his soul went to Jesus on Thursday, March 30, 2006 from Yukon, Oklahoma. Dale was a veteran of World War II and served as a naval aviator in the Pacific Theatre. He was a dive-bomber pilot and a fighter-bomber pilot in the South Pacific on the U.S.S. Ticonderoga and also the U.S.S. Hancock aircraft carriers. Dale married Pat E. Luellen on November 20, 1971 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He was an accredited Real Estate Appraiser and also a Senior Residential Appraiser. Dale worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for 9 years and the Bureau of Indian Affairs for 16 years. Formerly he was a salesman for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company and initially was a vocational agricultural instructor for 5 years. Dale was an active church member all of his life. He was a deacon for many years at the First Baptist Church of Okmulgee and also a Sunday school teacher for more than 15 years; teaching children IV boys and numerous adult classes. Dale was preceded in death by his wife of 33 years Pat E. Maynard. In addition he was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Amanda and one brother, Donald G. Maynard. He is survived by his daughter, Gail A. Aldridge and husband, Hunter of Velma, Oklahoma; his son, Gary L. Maynard and wife, Sandra of Yukon, Oklahoma; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 3, 2006 at the First Baptist Church of Okmulgee with Dr. Dennis Taylor officiating. Dale’s final resting place for his earthly body will be beside his wife, Pat at the Memorial Park Cemetery west of Muskogee under the direction of the Shurden-Kelley Funeral Home of Okmulgee. Honorary Pallbearers will be Estle Smith, James Shepherd, Rollyn Kring, Bob Simmons, Todd Groff, Randy Weatherford and David Eldridge. His family would like to thank all of the staff of Ranchwood Nursing Center and Mission Hospice for their loving care and tender support.
