ALVIN W. NORWOOD

CRESCENT ­ The funeral for Alvin Wayne Norwood, 74, will be 10 a.m. 
Wednesday in Abernathy Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Odelle Vanderburg 
will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland-Knowles Cemetery.

He was born April 27, 1927, in Morris to Samuel Willis and Mae Daniels 
Norwood and died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2002, at Crescent.

He graduated from Checotah High School and then from Oklahoma State 
University in 1949. On Dec. 3, 1949, he married Eva Lee Vanderburg at Van 
Buren, Ark. He was retired from the Kerr-McGee Co. where he worked as a 
health physicist and manager.

Surviving are his wife, Eva of the home; three sons, Samuel of Lake 
Jackson, Texas, Daniel of Benton City, Wash., and Michael of Van Buren, 
Ark.; and six grandchildren.
