Charles E. Powell

PAMPA - Charles E. "Charlie" Powell, 97, died Friday, Aug. 15, 1997.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in First Baptist Church with the 
Rev. John Glover, associate pastor, officiating. Burial will be in 
Fairview Cemetery by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.

Mr. Powell was born in Bellingham, Wash. He moved to Pampa in 1943 from 
Seminole, Okla.

He married Una Parker in 1929 at Garber, Okla. She died in 1977.

Mr. Powell was a plant manager for Cities Service Oil Co. He retired after 
411/2 years of service. He was a member of First Baptist Church, the 
Everymans Bible Class and the Pampa Rotary Club.

Survivors include a nephew, Bill J. Morris of Wichita, Kan; and a niece, 
Jo Ann Gilpin of Tulsa, Okla. 

The family requests memorials be to First Baptist Church.
