Jay Rippy

PERRYTON - Jay Rippy, 86, died Tuesday, July 7, 1998.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. 
Ted Latham officiating. Burial will be in Ochiltree Cemetery by Boxwell 
Brothers Funeral Home.

Mr. Rippy was born in Denton and moved to Perryton from Enid, Okla., 37 
years ago. He built and was owner of the Cattlemen's Livestock Auction in 
Dalhart and was owner of Hedley Feedlot in Hedley. He was a Mason and 
member of the Petroleum Lodge in Tulsa.

He married Verdie Lee in 1935 at Tulsa. She died in 1995.

Survivors include a daughter, Janice Daniel of Perryton; a brother, John 
Rippy of Whittier, Calif.; three grandchildren; and four great-
grandchildren.

The family will be at 2705 Grinnell in Perryton. They request memorials be 
to one's favorite charity.
