Richard, 90, of Canyon died Friday, Aug. 8, 2003. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Christian Church with the Rev. Debra Huffman, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Brooks Funeral Directors. Mr. Richard, loving husband and father, was born May 12, 1913, in Ellis County to Samuel and Sarah Beltz Richard. He married Elizabeth Rogers in Enid, Okla., in 1933. He owned and operated the Texaco gas station in Enid and then was a conductor for Santa Fe Railway from 1941 to 1978. He moved to Canyon from Canadian in 1955. He was a member of First Christian Church and a lifetime member of United Transportation Union. He loved his family, camping and fishing. He was preceded in death by his wife on May 12, 2003. Survivors include three daughters, Carol Kay Daniel of Irvine, Calif., Beverly Lewis of Collinsville and Pamela Riggins of Carrollton; two sons, Fred S. Richard and Sam A. Richard, both of Canyon; a sister, Viva Manuel of Enid; 13 grandchildren; 15 great- grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. The family suggests memorials be to First Christian Church, 2011 Fourth Ave., Canyon, TX 79015; or Crown of Texas Hospice, 1000 S. Jefferson, Amarillo, TX 79101.
