Jerry D., born Aug. 24, 1918 in McRae, Arkansas to Jerry Austin Stephens & Florence (Fox) Stephens, died Feb. 5, 2003 in Enid, OK. On Dec. 24, 1941 Jerry married Alline M. Keathley in Fort Sill, OK. Jerry served in the US Army from 1941-1945. During this time he was awarded 3 Bronze Stars for Central Europe & Rhineland Campaign & the Good Conduct Medal. Jerry was a highly respected millwright for Oakes Manufacturing Co. in OKC for 55 years. He was also an avid gardener. Jerry was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Jerry & Alline were married 63 years. Jerry enjoyed life and his love for people often came before his own needs. He had great respect for family and friends. He had a strong faith in God, provided for and honored his family, and treated everyone he met with respect. He had a smile that lasts even now. Jerry was preceded in death by brother, Garland Stephens, & his parents. Jerry is survived by his wife Alline M. Stephens; brother Jerry Albert Stephens & wife Norma of Conway, AR; sister Mabel Crow of Conway, AR; daughters: Regina & Randy Kraus of Medford, OK, Sheilah & Don England of Tulsa, OK; granddaughters: Shalena Forsythe & Sara Cordell of Tulsa, OK; one great grandson Jaden; and several nieces & nephews. Memorials may be made to organization of choice. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 am to 12:00 Noon Saturday.
