All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Ouimet Bros FH--Concord CA Schwartz, Harry Erwin Harry Erwin Schwartz July 25, 1924 - Dec. 31, 2006 Resident of Concord My Dad was born in Enid, OK, and grew up in Michigan. He graduated from Enid High School in June of 1942, and joined the U.S. Navy in August of 1942. A veteran of World War II, he served on the USS Coghlan DD-606 as a fire controlman. The USS Coghlan received 8 Battle Stars for W.W. II service. While in the Navy he met my Mom when his ship was at Mare Island for repairs. My Mom, Wanda, was a "Rosie the Riveter" welder working on the Liberty Ships. Soon they married and settled into government housing in Richmond, CA. My Dad worked as a Richmond Police Officer for a short time then joined the California Highway Patrol. He retired 20 years later as a Sergeant. He was also famous for "Harry's Clock Service" for 15 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Wanda; daughter Cheryl Schwartz West-bury; son in law Robert West-bury; grandsons Gregory (Tam-my), Darin (Debbi); his wonderful great-grandchildren Ryan, Katlyn, and Gracie Westbury; sisters Hilda Shockley and Natalie Frost of Oklahoma; and brother Bob Schwartz of Lillian, Alabama. My Dad had numerous health issues throughout the years, but was very courageous and had a strong will to live. He loved his family deeply. We love you and miss you. A Memorial Service was held.
