All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ENID NEWS & EAGLE 27 Feb 2002 JACK TOUCHSTONE The funeral for Jacob M. “Jack” Touchstone, 85, will be 2 p.m. Friday in Church of Christ. Ray Rose will officiate. Burial with military honors by Vance Air Force Base will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Henninger-Allen Funeral Home. He was born Sept. 19, 1916, in Shaw Town, Tenn., to James Stephen and Elizabeth Morris Touchstone and died Monday, Feb. 25, 2002, in Enid. He attended Loanoak Grade School, graduating in 1932. He then enlisted into the 5th Cavalry U.S. Army. He remained in the military for 22 years, serving in the South Pacific Theater during World War II and Korea in 1953-54 as maintenance officer for the 8th Fighter Bomber Group at K13 in Suon, Korea. He returned in 1954. His wife, Margaret, died in January 1956. He married Jo Ann DeBoard on Dec. 22, 1956. They moved to Enid from Byran, Texas. He worked for 20 years at Vance Air Force Base, with 14 months in Isfahn, Iran, during 1977-78. He spoke four languages ­ English, Persian, Korean and Japanese. He was a member of Church of Christ and Garfield County Historical Society and was a life member of NAUS, National Rifle Association and Retired Officers Association. Surviving are his wife, Jo Ann of the home; three sons, James of San Mateo, Calif., Robert of Norman and Stephan of Abilene, Texas; one brother, Randolph of Hornbeak, Tenn.; two sisters, Minnie Lou Kirk and Edna Earl Killion, both of Troy, Tenn.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
