All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ENID NEWS & EAGLE 22 Feb 2002 ROSE LEE WALKER Rose Lee Walker of Oklahoma City died of natural causes Tuesday, February 17, 2002, in Fairview at the Fairview Fellowship Home. She was 92. The daughter of John and Lena Wenger, she was a New Year’s baby born on Jan. 1, 1910 in Fairview, Oklahoma. Her father and mother came to the country from Switzerland and were among the first pioneers to settle in northwest Oklahoma. Mrs. Walker grew up on a farm in Fairview before moving to Chicago where she married James Robert Walker on June 7, 1934. In 1937, they moved to Oklahoma City. Mrs. Walker raised a family and lived in Oklahoma City until 2001 when she moved back to Fairview. She is survived by her daughter, Kay Allen of Columbus, Ohio, and her son, Bob Walker of Boulder, CO. She was preceded in death by hr husband; three sisters, Emma Davis, Ann Ferrell and Marie Strohm and three brothers, John Wenger, Alfred Wenger and Walter Wenger. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 10:45 Friday at Henninger-Allen Funeral Home, 601 W. Broadway, Enid. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Memorial Park Cemetery in Enid. Contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
