"HERK" WRIGHT - Francis E. "Herk" Wright, 70, Drummond, died early Wednesday after a long illness. He was born May 20, 1907, on a farm between Drummond and Lahoma. Wright and Alma Daugherty were married March 22,1934, in Ames. He was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church and the Lions Club in Drummond. Survivors include his widow and a granddaughter, Brenda of the home in Drummond; three sons, Jerry of Eldorado, Kan., James "Jim" Wright, Longview, Tex., and Joe, stationed with the U.S. Navy in Summerville, S.C.; eight other grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Fay James, of Wichita, Kan. Funeral service for Wright will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Salem United Methodist Church in Drummond with the Rev. Randy Hodgson and the Rev. O.E. Weeks officiating. Burial will be in the Concord Cemetery. The Henninger-Allen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A memorial fund has been established at the Salem United Methodist Church in Wright's memory.
