All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Marjorie Ellen Youngman Marjorie Ellen Youngman, 83, of Amarillo, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 1999. Services will be at 2 p. m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with the Rev. John R. Watson of St. Peter's Episcopal Church officiating. Mrs. Youngman was born in Fairview, Okla. She graduated from Junction City High School at Junction City, Kan. She married Lester "Red" Youngman in 1934 at Enid, Okla. They moved to Edinburg in 1946. They lived in Georgetown from 1981 to 1997, when they moved to Amarillo. She was a founder and first president of the Edinburg Junior Service League. She served as secretary on the founding board of the Edinburg Public Library and was a member of the Edinburg Study Club. She was a member of the Faculty Wives Club at Pan American University. Mrs. Youngman worked as assistant librarian at Edinburg High School for 10 years. She served on the Georgetown Library Advisory Board during the planning and construction of the Georgetown Public Library. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Mary Beth Ford of Amarillo and Evelyn Bryan of New Orleans; a sister, Betty Jane Vernon of Beaverton, Ore.; six grandchildren; and 11 greatgrandchildren.
