Bellenfant May 11, 1930- Feb. 22, 2007 Billy "Bill" J. Bellenfant, 76, of Brawley passed away of natural causes Thursday, February 22, 2007 at Pioneers Memorial Hospital in Brawley. Bill was born in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. He moved as a young child to Brawley with his family, where he attended local schools and graduated from Brawley Union High School in 1949. He married Bonnie Taylor on March 30, 1950 in Yuma, Arizona. He worked in the produce sheds briefly, before working at College View Market and Gullet's Grocer in Brawley. He then began working for Safeway Store in Brawley. While there, he served as Dept. Manager for the Produce, Liquor, and Non-food Items Depts. Bill retired after 37 years of service at Safeway. Bill was a long- time member of Masonic Lodge #402 F&AM and served as Master in 1963 and 2003. He received the Hiram Award from the Lodge in 2004. He loved old western movies, especially John Wayne movies, and he collected John Wayne memorabilia. Bill enjoyed his grandchildren and loved to spend time with them. Funeral Services will be officiated by Masonic Lodge #402 F&AM Thursday, March 1, at Frye Chapel and Mortuary in Brawley, commencing at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Brawley. Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Bellenfant on Jan. 15, 2005 and brother Earl Bellenfant. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Terrie and Jim Sullivan and Janet and Ralph Woelke, both of Brawley; daughter and companion, Carol Bellenfant and Lloyd Gregory of Brawley; son and companion, Tim Bellenfant and Mandy Walker of Brawley; grandchildren, Devon Sullivan of San Diego, Jessica Bellenfant of Redlands, Carla Bellenfant of Irvine, Brett and Audrey Woelke of Brawley, and Steven Sullivan of Blythe; sisters, Frances McPhail of Santa Paula and Lucille Kee of Pismo Beach; sister-in-law, Joy Bellenfant of De Leon, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
