Dunn Dead Pauls Valley lost one of her best and most prominent citizens in the death of Henry M. Dunn, at the family residence in this city Sunday morning about 3:30. Mr. Dunn had been in declining health during the past two or three months, but continued to hold his position as traveling salesman for the Sullivan Long Wholesale Grocery Co., up to the time of taking his bed about three weeks ago. He thought his malady was stomach trouble, but the doctors in the case diagnosed it as Bright's disease. Deceased is survived by a wife and six children, the oldest of whom is about twenty years old. The aged parents and many other relatives still reside in Texas. Mr. Dunn was born in Texas September 30th, 1866, being at the age of his death 43 years and one month. He was a member and official in the Baptist church, a member of the School Board and a member of the W. O. W. Lodge in which he carried $2000 insurance. Funeral services under the auspices of the W. O. W. Lodge were conducted by Revs. Watson J. L. Keller and J. B. Reeves, at the Baptist church Monday afternoon. Burial took place at the city cemetery. Any community can ill afford to lose such a citizen as Mr. Dunn. He always aligned himself on the moral side of every issue and was for anything that would better the town in anyway. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Garvin County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/garvin/garvin.html
