Olivet Cemetery--Pauls Valley OK Lawton Consitituion 9 Oct 2004 Evelyn V. Duncan Flippen OKLAHOMA CITY Funeral for Evelyn V. Duncan Flippen, 78, Oklahoma City, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at New Life United Methodist Church, Moore, with the Rev. Robert L. Majors officiating. Mrs. Flippen died Sunday, Oct. 10, 2004, in Norman. Burial will be at 3 p.m. in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Pauls Valley, under direction of Smith-Parks Funeral Service, Harrah. She was born May 28, 1926, in Cromwell the daughter of W.Z. and Ada Graves Duncan. She graduated from Cromwell High School and received her bachelor's degree from Oklahoma State College in Ada. She earned a master's degree from the University of Oklahoma. She married Eugene W. Flippen on July 14, 1945. She taught in the Lawton School System and retired from the Mid-Del School System. She was a lifetime member of the Oklahoma Education Association, the National Education Association and the Oklahoma Retired Educators Association. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Gail Flippen, Oklahoma City; a daughter, Marcia Peppel, Lawton; a brother and sister-in-law, W.Z and Maribell Duncan, Tulsa; a sister, Bernice Carpenter, Okmulgee; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a sister.
