All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Green Hill Cemetery--Lindsay OK B G Boydston Funeral Home Lindsay OK Byrdell Hardeman November 24, 1912 - July 10, 2005 Byrdell Bishop Willson Hardeman Byrdell Bishop Willson Hardeman passed away at her home in Lindsay, Oklahoma, on July 10, 2005, at the age of 92. Byrdell was born on November 24, 1912 in Dardanelle, Arkansas. Her parents were Joe and Etta Bishop. Byrdell attended many schools including; Beebe, Arkansas, Searcy, Arkansas, Shawnee, Oklahoma, San Angelo, Texas, Frederick, Oklahoma and graduated from high school in Ardmore, Oklahoma. She received her Bachelor’s degree from the Southern Nazarene University. She also received a Masters degree from Oklahoma State University and taught school for 19 years in Dalhart, Texas, Elk City, New Castle, Hollis, Waurika, and Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. Byrdell was an instructor for one year at Oklahoma State University. She married Homer D. Hardeman on December 23, 1956 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. She and her husband owned and operated Byrdell’s Flower and gift shop in Lindsay, Oklahoma for 14 years. Byrdell and her husband were directors for the RSVP (Retired Seniors Volunteer Program) and served meals to senior citizens for 13 ½ years, and she was a member of the Lindsay China Painting Club, Sewing Club, and Progressive Study Club. She enjoyed china painting. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. Byrdell is preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 47 years, Homer D. Hardeman. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. Homer and Byrdell referred to her former students as (their children) and they are Clovis and JoAnn Weatherford, J.W. and Barbara Weatherford, Bill Walden, Dick Samples, Joyce Booth, and Ronnie Churchwell. Services for Byrdell will be July 13, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, Lindsay, Oklahoma. Interment will be at the Green Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Valley Hospice, Pauls Valley, OK; The Oklahoma Arthritis Foundation, or the American Heart Association. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the B. G. Boydston Funeral Home, Lindsay, Oklahoma.
