Eva Naomi Howell
1913 - 2003

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 17, 
2003, at Hillcrest Memorial Chapel, 9101 Kern Canyon Road, for Eva 
Naomi Howell, 89, who passed away to be with our Lord on January 12, 
2003, in Bakersfield. Dr. Clyde Wasdin of Christ Cathedral Church 
will officiate and interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. 
Naomi was born on December 10, 1913, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, to 
Elijah and Rosa Etta Conatser.

On November 23, 1930, she married Wilson Howell. They had three sons 
and three daughters. Naomi was a beloved mother, wife and grandmother 
who faithfully served her family for seventy-three years. She was a 
very unselfish individual who thought of others before herself. She 
will be greatly missed by her family.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wilson Howell and 
her daughters, Marie Leona Howell and Betty Epps. She is survived by 
her three sons, Willie Howell of Washington, Richard Howell of El 
Dorado Hills and Jim Howell of Texas. She is also survived by her 
daughter, Ruby Garriott of Bakersfield; 12 grandchildren and 20 
great-grandchildren.
