Howerton, wife of W. W. Howerton, former assistant city clerk. Mrs. Howerton died Christmas Eve after a long illness. She was resident here for 35 years. Services were at the Stufflebean Funeral Home with Rev. Preston Cotham, Church of Christ, conducting Interment in Mt. Olivet. She was survived by her husband, three sons, Jack H. Howerton, New York City, Jim Howerton, Kelly Field, Texas, W. C. Howerton, Oklahoma City, four daughters, Mrs. Red Terry, Ponder, Texas, Mrs. Fred Heidlege, Pauls Valley, Mrs. Joe Russell, Pauls Valley and Mrs. W. A. Dennis, Stonewall, Okla. One brother, Dr. John R. Callaway of this city, and three sisters, Mrs. Earl Witten, Pauls Valley, Mrs. Paul Ford, Billings, Okla., and Mrs. F. L. Armstrong, Santa Barbara, Calif.
