A. (Arthur) Ivy, resident of Pauls Valley, was shot and instantly killed about 6:30 Wednesday evening by Zack Walker, a farmer living near here. Ivy was shot several times, three times in the head and once in the breast, any one of the shots would have been fatal. Ivy, whose wife had died several months ago, had retained Mrs. Walker as housekeeper, as he had seven rather small children who needed the attention of a woman. Walker and his wife had been having trouble and had separated before she went to work for Ivy. It is believed that jealousy of Ivy by Walker led to the fatal shooting. Ivy, his seven children, Mr. and Mrs. Walker and their four children were all eating supper in the Ivy home, according to the testimony of eye witnesses, and Ivy stepped from the dining room into the kitchen to get a glass of water. Walker followed him and the shooting took place. A doctor was called but Ivy was dead before the doctor could arrive and the body was at once removed to the undertaking parlors to be prepared for burial. Pauls Valley Democrat March 16, 1927
