Funeral: 10 a.m. Monday at Laurel Land Chapel of Chimes. Memorial service: 10 a.m. Saturday, June 24, 2006, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Aiken, S.C. Visitation: The family will receive friends at the church following the service in Aiken. Burial: Laurel Land Memorial Park. Visitation: none in Fort Worth. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Regency Hospice, 105 Summerwood Way, Aiken, S.C., 29803; the Kum Duble Scholarship Fund, in care of University United Methodist Church, 2416 W. Berry St., Fort Worth; or the Alzheimer's Association. A native of Wynnewood, Okla., Mrs. Lea was a daughter of the late Robert Franklin and Esta Lee Quinn Nisler. She was the widow of retired Army Maj. Alphonso Lea. She was a graduate of Central State College for Teachers in Edmond, Okla., and received her master's of library science from George Peabody College in Nashville. During the 1930s she worked for the WPA. Mrs. Lea worked as a librarian for over 60 years and retired from the U.S. Corps of Engineers in 1979. She also hepled countless people with genealogy research while working in the genealogy department at the public library in Fort Worth. She later helped many more people research legal issues while working at the Tarrant County Law Library. Mrs. Lea was a member of the Fort Worth Chapter of the National Association of Retired Federal Executives. She was also a member of University United Methodist Church in Fort Worth, where she was a member of the Kum Duble Sunday School Class for over 30 years. She had lived in Aiken since 2001 and had been attending Trinity United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death her brother, Robert Freeman Nisler. Survivors: Daughter and son-in-law, Ruth Lea and Stephen Gordy of Aiken; stepdaughter, Gene Lea Dansby of Fort Worth; and grandson, Phillip L. Wilson of Fort Worth.
